What I have found to be useful is to have small, non-food or drink, type of rewards. For example, my first goal is to lose ten pounds and if I do then I will buy myself a book from the list I have on B&N which have been waiting on that list for 2 years for me to eventually buy. So that is my first goal and reward. Also, if you want to fit in a smaller size have an outfit or even just one item hanging somewhere you can see it everyday. Mine is where I keep my scale and it's a pair of jeans and a dress size 16. Just the little things will help motivate and try to remind yourself there is no time like the present. Good luck!

Another motivator is to put on some old "non stretchy" blue jeans. When I start to feel my jeans getting snugger, I do something about it! Who wants to go up another size?
You can also take some pictures of youself. Sometimes seeing yourself at a heavier weight helps, but in my case seeing a photo of myself at my all-time thinnest is what got me motivated!
Posting here may help you too.

One that sometimes helps me is telling myself I just have to do the first step towards working out. Like I'll just have to get the workout gear on. Once I have my sweats and shirt and shoes on I feel like I might as well use them. Or I'll tell myself I have to walk just one block and since I've gone around the block and am warmed up now, I might as well walk down to the youth center or around Pelican Street or over to the end of Burningtree, any of which takes my walk up to at least a mile and usually more depending on my route. I think varying the places I go and the exercises I do helps me, too. HTH you with getting motivated.

I used to run almost everyday and I was eating right, but I have fallen into a pattern of eating crappy and not working out at all, and shockingly, I have gained weight! i would like to be about 10-15 lbs lighter than I am now, I just can't seem to get myself started. Everynight, I tell myself, tomorrow I am going to run and eat right all day...but I never do it. How did you get yourself motivated to start? I know once I am back into the routine of running and eating right, I will be fine, but just getting started has gotten me stumped. Any motivational tips that you can share? Thanks!
