Yes, I started a thread called June 1st. We have been posting there. See ya there.
BEGRILL 6/3/06 10:22 A
just curious haven't heard from anyone in awhile. Did we start a new thread or is everyone just busy like me?
CINDISTBS 5/27/06 6:09 P
Hi Kathy! Glad you had a good time. Study hard for that test!! I know you can do it!
Yes, let us know those dates. I will be going to Michigan the weekend of the 8th, but am only staying a few days. I am leaving the kids w/ Danny, but will prob. take Lance w/ me. My Mom and I are going and hopefully my sister and maybe Patty to visit my aunt(steve's mom). It will be nice to have just a girl's trip w/ family. We've never done that. So, let me know what days you will be here, so I can be sure to be home.
So, what is your goal? My goal was to be at 135 by 4th of July. I still have time, but my scale has been going up instead of down! SO, I really need to get busy if I want to reach my goal by then.
Have a wonderful weekend. The boys and I are heading over to Steve and Patty's for a cookout. We were there last night and Sarah stayed. SO, we are going back tonight for another relaxing night over there.

Hello again.
LOL
Have a great weekend. We are off to Richmond, VA. to visit Rick's family. We were supposed to be going to a baby shower too, but it was postponed.
Talk to you all later.
Kathy
ps - I don't think I'll be reaching my goal by May 31, which was my "goal". Hopefully, by Stevie's graduation. KICK MY BUTT FOR ME!!! This should be easy to do.
KATHYSTBS 5/26/06 9:32 P
ok...I am trying to do this on a little pocket pc Rick gave me for school. I am typing this with a little stylus. I am such a techie. ; 0. Just wanted to see if it works.
KATHYSTBS 5/26/06 12:41 P
Hi. Here I thought I'd have lots of spare time as soon as I finished school!
I had a great week with my cousins. We had 2 days with just the 3 of us & then the rest of the time with other family members. We are going to try to get out to Vegas & LA to visit them. It will be so much fun. We are also trying to plan a couples trip to NYC.
I had my nursing orientation. Wow! So much to do this summer. We have a dosage calculation test/or class. The test must be passed 100% or the class must be taken. Problem - the class is every Friday in July. We will be in KY one friday & on vacation another. So...I have to ensure that I will pass the exam with 100%. YUK...that means more studying. I was really ready for a break! We also have 20 OSHA courses to take online. That is what I have been working on. I finally finished them today. Then I have to take a Healt Provider CPR certification. The Red Cross one doesn't count. I knew that, but figured it would be good to do it & know a little bit beforehand. I am planning on doing that on June 3.
Stephanie's graduation is the 10th of June. I am dreading that. Yes..it has to do with the egg doner. I'll get into that another time. I have to pick Hayley up soon. She was invited to have lunch with the Principal at school today. Big deal for her! She can't wait for first grade so she can eat lunch at school!
My mom goes in on June 5 for her surgery. It is going to be horrible. She will be injected with some radioactive liquid on the 5th. (Monday) Then on Wed & Friday they will actually burn effected cells out of her esophagus. She had to be totally covered for 6 weeks. Not even indirect sunlight. They said even to let the dog out, she must have gloves, hat, scarf, mask, etc... All her windows have to be covered so no sunlight can come through. Besides that, it is supposed to be horribly painful. Hopefully, at least, it will work. She isn't feeling well right now, but wonders if it is her nerves.
Cindi - Wonderful news on Evan being home!!! It has been a long hard road, but so glad it has led to him being home with his family.
Debbie - That would be great if you could meet up with us. I think it is around the 11th of July. I'll have to check the dates for sure. I know we have a day of work activities & will have to find out what day that is.
I better go get Hayley now.
Have a great day.
Kathy

Michelle, I can sympathize. My husband's family has a track of getting alzheimers. All of the women in his family have developed it so far. He had five great-aunts and his grandmother all who died and or are dying from it. It's a sad and terrible disease. I wish you all of the best. Remember the good times and see her as much as possible because the longer you go the bigger the shock.
DEBBIESTBS 5/25/06 9:44 P
Hi everyone, Sorry I disappeared there for awhile. Last Friday I had my temporary crown put in. Then I went to the homeschool curriculum fair in Nashville and picked up almost everything I need. That night, I brushed my teeth and my crown came off! I called the dentist Sat morning and he said to try fixodent until I can come in. Well, Sat afternoon we picked my parents up from the airport. Emotionally, it was a really tough visit. My Mom has Alzheimer's and she has deteriorated a lot since I saw her last year. I don't think she will be capable of making the trip next year so I'm going to start saving some $$ so I can go see her more than once a year. I also don't think I want the kids to remember her in a worse condition than she already is. Pray your families don't get this disease...it truly is awful. Anway, they left Wed afternoon and I think we are all still recuperating. Mark & I are both exhausted. Oh, and I still need to see if I can get my crown reseated tomorrow. I hope they are open with it being Memorial Weekend.
I'm also kind of bummed b/c my foot isn't well enough to do jazzercise yet. Hopefully I can start again on Monday.
Cindi ~ YAY! Evan is home! I'm so excited for all of you. Give that boy a big hug and kiss. :)
Michelle ~ Yes, the original STBS group started a thread here, but they don't post much there.
Kathy ~ I bet you are so happy finals are over. Hopefully I can meet with you and Cindi. When are you meeting?
Hi to everyone else. I'm exhausted so I'm making this an early night. Have a great weekend everyone!

I'll be home. No big plans here. Give me a call!
I'm so glad Evan is home. I know Patty and Steve are happy too. They can finally get their life back to some sort of "normalcy". Is that a word? LOL
I'm glad our baseball starts early. It gets sooooooo hot here so soon, the kids would be too hot any later.
Well, gotta run to Walmart to get stuff to finish up the boys' buckets for their party tonight.
BBL! Michelle
CINDISTBS 5/25/06 10:23 A
I forgot to tell you all that EVAN IS HOME!!
He came home yesterday! He has lots of equipment right now, oxygen tanks and a bipap machine for when he sleeps. Once they get used to it all it'll be fine. Hopefully, they won't need it all for long. At least he is home. We are going to go see him this weekend.
Michelle~Our ball is just starting. I signed the kids up for tball/softball at the YMCA and the games start next Sat. I just can't remember to sign them up so early in the year. I forget it starts early and by the time I remember leagues have already started. MAybe now that I am done having babies and Lance is getting older then I can remember that stuff next year. I stay so busy that first year after having a baby and trying to adjust to everything. I think this summer will be good for us and then hopefully get into a better routine when school starts back up.
That bike ride sounds fun. I need to teach Sarah to ride her bike w/out training wheels this year.
Yes, I thought AI was entertaining last night. And I am glad he won. I know what you mean. Although, I felt like he almost sounded the same in all his songs and her voice had a little more variety. I'd like to see how well they both do in the future.
I might give you a call this weekend. Are you going to be home or busy?
I need to get to yoga.

Good morning skinnies! Today is Trevor's last day in the 1st grade. We had his end of year party yesterday. That's over with. Now, tonight is the boys baseball party. Then THAT'S IT!!!! WE'RE DONE FOR THE SUMMER! YAHOOOOO!
Cindi~i liked the way AI ended. I have always liked Taylor. Especially the more time went by I like him more and more. He has his style and whatever song he performed, he made that song HIS. To me, Kat always just sang the song. KWIM? She is a good singer, but anybody can get up there and sing like her. Make sense? I really enjoyed the show last night though. Very entertaining.
Where is everybody? I've been doing good on eating lately.
Oh, and a friend and I rode bikes this morning w/our boys to school. Trevor was so excited. My legs feel good now. :) I rode her dh's bike b/c I don't have one. I want one now. I forgot how much I really enjoy riding bikes.
Better go get something done.
BBL~ Michelle
CINDISTBS 5/24/06 10:09 P
Michelle~So, what did you think about A.I.?? I was a bit shocked, but I like him. He is funny and I think he deserves it. I still think Chris should have won. Kat looked very disappointed. Oh well, I am sure they will all have songs out eventually. What did you think about Clay Aiken? I think that was him. It took me a minute to figure out who that was. I don't know if I like the hair. Kinda weird, huh?
Well, I am off to bed. Had a busy day and the next couple ones will be busy too. I am ready for school to be out. Just 2 more days.

I'm glad to hear she is ok! kids can really drive ya crazy can't they?
CINDISTBS 5/23/06 11:33 A
Good Morning!
Well, I spent 4 hours last night in the ER w/ Sarah! She was playing on one of those cars you have to use your feet to move and started rolling down a hill and couldn't stop and went over the neighbor's behind us retaining wall onto their concrete patio and hit her head. She has a big goose egg the size of a golf ball on her forehead. Scared me to death. So, I called Mom and she came over and went to the ER w/ me and the kids and then Danny got home shortly after and met us there, so Mom brought the boys home, fed them and put them to bed. We didn't get home til almost 11pm. Sarah wanted Dairy Queen, so we took her and we all got a blizzard.
They did a CT scan on her and it came out ok. So, today she stayed home from school. Her face is a little swollen on that side and her forehead still has a bump, but not as big. She also has a scrape on that side of her face. Poor girl, that is the 3rd time she has fallen and scraped her face. And she has always has great balance and very coordinated. I think she is just getting a little too adventurous. I think yesterday scared her into doing what she is supposed to and maybe listening to me better. Hopefully, Daniel too.
I started this earlier and then got caught up in bills. NOw, I need to finish paying the bills online that I can. I wish I could do all my bills online.

Hi skinnies.
Today is my last day with my cousins. We are going out all day, but I wanted to pop in and say hi.
I'll be back tomorrow & fill you all in with everything that's been going on.
Kathy
MICHELLESTBS 5/22/06 4:33 P
Hey skinnies! I got ALL my laundry done today. I went to the washateria and knocked it all out. I had 11 machines going at one time. LOL Talk about alot of folding though.
Cindi~do you have any fresh fruit? That will usually fix my sweet craving. Maybe some fresh fruit w/homemade lowfat dip. Or some jello. So, when are the dates of the get together?
Hey Brooke!
Yeah, where's Randi, Debbie, and Kelly, and Becky? You know i noticed another stbs thread from March or so w/all the old skinnies. Are those the same original skinnies? Like Sandy, Kati, etc. Debbie, do you know? That would be neat if it was them. I think so b/c they have STBS in their username.
OK, better go put clean sheets on the beds.
BBL~ Michelle
CINDISTBS 5/22/06 3:30 P
Good Afternoon!
How is everyone doing? Another busy day here. I don't have anything planned this evening and Danny will be home later, so I will prob. straighten up in a bit. I am trying to figure out what to do for dinner. I am craving spaghetti and have some ground turkey in the fridge that needs to be cooked. So, I might do that.
Brooke~Those prices were from Expedia. I always check there first and then I will go to the website of the cheapest airline and check their rate. They will sometimes be about$5 cheaper, not always though.
I am having sweets cravings bad. I need to get rid of it. I have been doing pretty good staying op and getting my exercise in. I just hope I can exercise as much when the kids are out of school. I would like to do more than I have been to burn some more calories, but am having a hard time. I need to pull out some of my old videos for when I can't get out or go to the gym.
Where is Randi? Her finger got better and she dropped out of sight! Becky too!
Have a great day!!
Cindi
BEGRILL 5/21/06 8:49 P
Wow Cindi that's will power. You guys should try expedia and such for airfares. They usually are much cheaper than the airlines websites.
CINDISTBS 5/19/06 9:34 P
Hey Michelle, I just checked Expedia to see what it costs to fly from Houston to Louisville that weekend and it is $357. So, I checked to Nashville, then you and Debbie could drive up together(if she can go) and it is $299. I also checked Southwest, they fly out of Houston Hobby and it was about the same. Are there any other airports near you? I figure Houston would be the cheapest to fly out of. It would be fun if we could all get together here.
I am tired. Off to relax. Oh, I did great at the bday party. NO CAKE, NO ICE CREAM, NO PIZZA! I ordered a Santa Fe salad and didn't even use dressing. I asked for salsa, but they didn't have any(hello, a santa fe salad and no salsa!) So, they gave me ranch. I dipped a couple bites in it, barely, but it wasn't good. The salad was actually pretty good w/out anything. I was so proud of myself. I was hungry when I got home, so I had a bowl of GLC.
Now, I am off to bed.
Cindi
MICHELLESTBS 5/19/06 7:30 P
I WAANNNNNNAAAAA GOOOOOO TOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! How could I pull that off? When are the dates? And yeah, where is Kelly?
Cindi~yeah, I thought for sure Chris would have made it to the final 2. I think everybody thought that. Apparently though, everybody that thought that didn't vote. LOL Myself included. I like Kat too, but she really hasn't been consistent. And I think she's a little arrogant. I don't like it when she seems truly shocked when the judges give her criticism. I still think though that Kat sings better than Paula. LOL
Kathy~glad you're having so much w/your cousins. You answered my question. I was wondering about the shedding. I want to see new pics of Winston. :) And pics of your skinny self in your new styling clothes!
Hi Brooke, Debbie, and Randi!
It is already so flippin hot here. I mowed today and went and bought a new gas blower. We had an electric one that died, so I've been sweeping it. Well, today in the heat, i was like nuh- uh I'm going to buy a new one! I LOVE IT!!! Funny how we get excited about the little things in life like a gas blower! LOL
Supper's ready

Hello!
Michelle~I forgot to say what I thought about American Idol.lol I just remembered you asked that. I really thought Chris and Katharine would be the last 2. I think Taylor is good, but not that good and I think Elliott is pretty good. I like Elliott. He seems like a really good guy. I really think it should have been Chris and Kat. So, I hope Kat wins. She is really good.
Kathy~Great to see you. Glad you are having a great time w/ your cousins and congrats on the compliments. I can't wait to see you. Right now I think I look about like I did when we all met. Maybe a little smaller. My goal though is to reach my goal by July 4th. So, hopefully, I will be smaller when you come here. NO, I haven't talked to Kelly. That would be fun though for the 3 of us to do lunch or something. Remind me of the exact dates you will be here. I am sure Patty would like to see you too.
Debbie~If you want to come up while Kathy is here and do something w/ us you can stay the night w/ me or just come up for the day. That would be fun. It is about a 2 1/2 hour drive. We could have a mini skinny reunion.lol
Michelle~You just might have to fly in too.
Did I tell you all that Evan is scheduled to come home next Wed. Patty's sister had a baby on Mother's Day. It was early. Patty is going there for the baby shower, but as a bonus gets to see the baby!! She ordered a blanket and I made it last night. It is so cute. She is excited to be flying home by herself, spend time w/ her sisters(4 of them) and her Mom and then get home just in time for Evan to get home. This is a good time for her. Just pray everything goes well and nothing else comes up.
I need to get going. I am taking the kids to a Birthday party and still have to get a present. 5:00 traffic on a Friday the whole way there. It may take me an hour just to get there! Better get going.

Hi Cindi, Brooke, Michelle, Debbie...
I am finished school. I just saw my Statistics grade posted. I got an A. Microbiology hasn't been posted yet. I am pretty sure I got an A in there too. I have a mandatory meeting on Monday for the Nursing program. It will last all day. There is so much that I'll have to do before starting in the fall. I am really having second thoughts about it now. Go figure...after all the waiting to see if I made it in!!
I have been having a blast with my cousins. We went to the Harbor on Wednesday & then shopped & shopped...I had only met one of them once & the other, never! I grew up on the East coast, they were on the west. My one cousin never even met our grandmother. They were very poor - 5 children. Anyway, they sure aren't poor now. We are just glad that we have met now & want to make sure we keep in touch. We have wanted to go to Vegas. One lives there & the other has a second home there, so maybe we'll take our trip!
Brooke, it is a very hard decision to make whether to work or stay home. Finances can be very intimidating! We are so far in debt. hopefully when I finish school we can pay it down pretty quickly.
Michelle - I am sorry I never answered your email. LOL, I was going to answer right here, but now I forget what you asked! I know it was about Winston. Maybe allergies or shedding? I'll look after I finish posting. But in case that is what you asked, I'll answer. Rick has allergies & can play with Winston without any problems. All other dogs have been a problem. He will have some clumps of hair come out sometimes, but not much. Moreso before we got his hair cut.
Cindi - Congrats on having a clean house for 4 days! My goal is to get the upstairs bedrooms cleaned this summer! I am excited about the new windows, but it will be awhile before they are ready to be installed. I have to have the rooms clean before then! I would like to paint too. I spackled a long time ago, but Justin's room is the only one that is actually finished. Well, STevie's and Angela's are. Have you heard from Kelly lately? I am hoping to meet up with her too. I should call her.
Angela left Sat. to go back to Canada. She is so happy. I will post prom pictures from Stephanie's prom on my homepage here. They had such a great time. She is a good girl. Her graduation is June 10. I think I may have to you all that Aaron was inducted into National Honor Society. I'll put up a picture from that too. He is the one in all black with a red tie. When I tried to take his picture by himself, he kept putting his hand in front of his face. What a brat!!!
I better go. I think we are going to try to go out tonight. Stevie said she will be home & babysit.
Oh...before I go...I went shopping today. I bought the cutest outfits! Cindi - I plan on wearing them when I am in KY. My girls will be so happy. They are totally not frumpy! LOL I must say, I think I look pretty good in them. ; ) I saw a friend while I was shopping & she couldn't believe how "skinny" I was. Anyway, I got one pair of light denim capri's with a really cute scarf belt. I got a few different tops that I can wear with them. I also got a white pair of goucho's & a couple tops for them. Then I got a skirt & top that is pretty dressy. I plan on wearing it for Stephanie's graduation. I got a pair of sandles too. I was so happy. I have been carrying gift cards around for weeks & couldn't find anything. I ended up spending more that twice as much as my gift cards! LOL Me bad!
Better go. Hayley wanted to play in the bathtub. She has been in there for a long time. Probably looking like a prune by now!
Kathy

Thanks for the encouragement guys! It's nice to hear that I'm not the only one is torn between home and career. I've met alot of mom's and some of them are die hard have to work and some are like my whole world is my kids and family how could you ever work.
My little one walked at 7 months!!! I never rush any one to walk until they are like 5! :)
CINDISTBS 5/18/06 6:17 P
Hi girls!
I have been so tired again today. I really have to get on a better sleep schedule. I just seem to make myself go to bed til after 11pm lately. I have been getting up and straightening the house while Sarah is getting ready for school. That helps get my day going. Then I fix bfast and sit down to eat and have my coffee after Sarah leaves and before the boys get up. Then it is off to the gym after getting the boys ready and then come home do lunch and relax a minute before getting Sarah from school. Then I get soooo tired after we get home, around 3pm. Today all I could think about was coming home and resting my eyes that I forgot about Daniel's chiro appt. So, I rescheduled for tomorrow at 3pm. I need to get to bed tonight, but CSI finale is tonight. I wonder if Without a Trace's finale is tonight? Plus, the end of Will and Grace is tonight. I used to watch that, but not much anymore, so I will prob. flip back and forth. THat means I need to get Sarah's homework and bath done soon, of course she took a late nap. She normally doesn't take one, but she has been tired lately so she just fell asleep on the couch. So, I will prob. let her lay in my bed and watch a movie or something while I watch TV, prob. while on the t/m.
MIchelle~I let myself get up over 150 again and didn't realize it. I was eating way too much of the wrong things. We had so much going on the past month I wasn't very strict on myself. I know a lot of it is water weight, so hopefully I will lose it quickly. We have family portraits for our church directory in 2 weeks, so I want to get rid of it before then. I was down to 141. At least that was the lowest that I hit. I think I hit it and bounced back up.lol ANyway, I would like to see 135-140, but more than anything I want to firm up these upper thighs. Too much baggage there. So, I am working on burning the fat more than trying to get to a certain number, but the scale still has some control over me that I am fighting.lol We don't have any big plans between now and 4th of July, so that is my goal. To stay op as much as possible and kick my exercise into high gear for the next few weeks. I am trying to do yoga and t/m as much as possible. I am not getting much exercise on the weekends, but Danny is out of town this weekend, so I might go to the gym then.
Lance is eating hamburger and corn for dinner. HE is so funny. I break into tiny pieces and he shovels it into his mouth. I have to watch him. He loves meat. Other foods I have to try it a few times because of the texture, but baby food he will gobble up. Except last night I tried a 3rd foods on him for the first time. My kids always loved the broccoli, carrots and cheese one. So, I was feeding it to him and he takes 2 big bites and then makes a face and out comes the tiny carrots on his tongue. HE had swallowed everything else.lol So, I made him eat that and after a few times he finally just swallowed them. He is definitely a different eater than the other 2. They just ate what I put in their mouths. He spits it back out the first time then after a few times he will eat it. Although he is bigger than they were at this age. He is about 24 lbs. He will let go of the chair and walk to the couch and then he starts giggling because he walked by himself. He thinks it is so funny. Everybody says he will be walking soon, but he has been doing this for weeks. He is taking more steps, but still likes to crawl. Which is fine w/ me. I am not ready for the walking/running stage. Guess I better be soon.
Brooke~I had the hardest time adjusting to being a SAHM. I have been for 6 1/2 yrs. now and am still adjusting to some things about it. I am trying to just enjoy my kids more than worrying about getting everything done. It is hard to find a happy medium. kids require a lot of work, but also want me to just sit and play w/ them. I figure the reason I am a sahm is to be there for them, so I have to remind myself of that when they want me and I am saying, wait, let me finish this. They need a manual for it.lol
Lance is finished. SO, i better get him and get Sarah in the tub.
TTYL, Cindi
MICHELLESTBS 5/18/06 4:50 P
cindi~it's tiring keeping the house clean, huh? I hear ya. I feel like that's all I do. LOL Good for you doing so well staying OP. How much more do you have to lose?
Brooke~girl, I felt the same way when I quit work. I had always worked. I even worked till Trevor was 10 mths old. I've been home now for 6 yrs. I did start working at a MDO 2 yrs ago. That's just 2 day a week. You will get used to staying home. You will start to think as staying home and taking care of the home as your "job". That's how I look at it. If laundry is not done, my job is not done. Etc. Good luck!!
We got a another puppy. It's another maltipoo. We named him Dudley. So now we have Bruno and Dudley. He's a chocolate colored maltipoo. Too cute! I'll send pics out soon.
Today was my last day of work for the summer. I haven't decided if I'm going back in the fall or not. I have a little more time to think about it.
cindi~what did you think about Idol? I've always like Elliott. :(
Gotta go for now. We are looking at a house at 4:00.
See ya! Michelle
BEGRILL 5/18/06 12:04 P
Cindi I'm totally with ya! I've been eating alot lately too. I've been stressing a little about our money situation and so I need to do something and since having the little one makes just going out to do something challenging, I eat!!! I'm gonna try real hard from hear on. I even already got a pretty good work out in.
Well its offical I will again be amongst the ranks of the stay at home mom. I was wavering between returning to work in the fall and continuing to stay at home and being with my daughter won out. It's releiving in one way because the decision is made and every one at work was so supportive, but it's stressful in another in that I've always worked. Since I was sixteen years old and only a short 6 month sabatical when I was finishing my classes and student teaching. I may substitute a few days a week just to keep up my license and to earn some extra money, but otherwise I'll be at home.
CINDISTBS 5/17/06 5:10 P
Where is everyone??
I have been a bit busy, but I have been taking the time to clean up after everyone or make them do it. So, my house is still clean, day 4!! I have been so tired this week. I think still recovering from the weekend. I keep saying that once school is out I will get better sleep. But, in reality, I think it is the way I have been eating. So, I have been totally op today, NO cheating. I have been allowing myself a little here and there to see how much I can have and still lose weight, but then I have a really bad day because a little turned into a lot and haven't been getting to the gym as much because I have had so many other things going on. So, I am back at the gym regularly and eating healthy! Anyone joining me?
