Christina,

This is a good point we should all be aware of. Thanks

I have always pee'd a lot and as I get into my mid (oh my god) fifties, I find I often go three times during the night. I think one cause of this is a growing prostrate. So we all also need to be aware of the possibility of prostrate cancer as a possible cause of this issue too.

Drinking lots of water is the best cause though :-)

Hi, I just wanted to make a health comment about peeing,... If you have to get up at night to pee (a lot, more than once) then it could be related to "Type 2" Diabetes. This is the main reason why my husband went to the doctor for a blood test to check for Diabetes. His mother has it, and his older brother may too. A lot of people have it that don't know it. Some symptoms are irritability (so many people), being tired all the time, thirsty all the time, and also when you need the "Viagra" - if you know what I mean. This "Type 2" has changed our family's way of life, actually for the good! but it is hard to change diet/habits. My husband is 52, but he could have had this condition for 10 years before, with NO symptoms, because High blood pressure and High Colesterol can be elevated by diabetes, but the doctors don't test for diabetes until after symptoms. Just a heads-up on health. HMO's don't care about you, you have to care about yourself. - Hope its okay to comment on the guy side of the fence, I relate better to men than women. I'm a tomboy, though a lot older now.

I am a heavy equipment operator in Las Vegas. I work outside and drink a lot of water on a regular basis. I've noticed during the colder months of the year, I go all day long. During the hotter months, I dont go as much, however, I lose a lot through perspiration. Your body will adapt the amount of fluids you take in and will put it out by way of several different means.

GolfPro - there's got to be a car analogy in there somewhere, I don't want to make it for fear of revealing my (weaker) gender! lol.

You will get used to drinking a lot and using the bathroom a lot. However, if there is any adjustment in your body, it will be that you pee even more. The more you drink, the less your body will store. Your body will realize that it has plenty of water and will try to get rid of any excess you have. It's a great way to keep your system running smooth and efficiently.

Since you're peeing so much you can try playing games like writing out sentences with urine (into the bowl/urinal of course, making letters with the 'streak'). Or timing how long you go for etc but this would just be weird so don't bother...

Oh yeah and congrats Jacob that's a really good weight loss.

Mick.

Yeah - all the time, I'm either walking to the/from the bathroom or needing to go. I used to pee like once or twice a day at work - now it has to be at least 6 if not more - probably about every 90 minutes or so, and then on the way back I grab another bottle of water. Everything I read claims it's great to drink a lot of water so I'm sticking with it.

I'm currently drinking 80-96 ounces of water per day and I seem to be going about every hour or two during the time when I'm drinking the most, between 6am and 4pm. This has been going on since I started and it doesn't look like its going to change since I've been at this for 6 months. Now in that 6 months I've dropped 73 pounds and plan to loose another 5 and stay there. So, yes, its worth it!

Sorry to be gross, but I'm not used to drinking anywhere near this quantity of water - and it means that I'm peeing at least six times a day, often more... Does your body start getting used to this and letting you store more, or is this just one more price to pay for getting healthier?
