I work 12hr weekend shifts. Luckily i don't have to rotate hours, but since i'm on my feet the whole day, and constantly lifting and bending and climbing stairs, can I count that as some sort of exercise when i'm tracking my activity?

Why don't you give yourself a break on your days on the job. 12 hours on your feet is enough, isn't it? I also work 12 hours days as an RN but only twice a week so I take my work days @ the hospital as my days off from cardio and strenght training. If this is not an option for you could you try just a 10-15 minute cardio workout just before work and just after? You would have 20-30 minutes in and feel as if no time was spent!

Good luck!

What's a break?

I work 12 hour shifts on midnights. I'm sorry I'm not much help, I've been doing this for a month and really haven't figured out an answer. I can exercise on my days off, but not on the days I work.

I don't get breaks at work, or a lunch time either, so I can't walk or anything during that time.

I'll figure it out eventually.

I have been working 12 shifts and picking up hours on the weekends since fiance is on strike.

I walk around the building outside every break (3 times).

I even got myself to do tae bo after work. I sit most of the day at my job though.

No advice here, Just thought you are awesome for even wanting to try to exercise before or after 12 hours of work. Me I'd be in bed trying to get some sleep.

Good luck

I work 12 hours shifts and rotate from days to nights every 2 weeks. I love my job so changing it is not an option but I wonder if anyone else out there can give me a hint on how they maintain consistency with a wild work schedule! I usually work at least 60 hours a week and much rather exercise in the morning but I can't always fit it in. Any ideas?
