You can also add a food, just search for "egg" and you will get several results. Pick the one that fits you best and search for the other ingredients for your omelette. Add them one by one as you find them and you will have the correct amounts and ingredients for the food you have eaten. Also, if you often eat the same thing, like an egg omelette every day instead of once in a blue moon, you might want to add it as a food grouping.

Hi,welcome, this sort of silly but for awhile I didn't know that there was the list of substitution by pointing the browser under the food I didn't want. I also do not check the box until after I've eaten it. Since I must have protein for breakfast I leave the cereal unchecked and give myself my egg white omelete. I would like to know how to do it the correct way.

Wraps make healthy lunches/dinners as well. Try a low carb wrap (they tend to have more fiber than the whole wheat ones), add some turkey breast, lettuce, cheese and mayonnaise or mustard. Wrap it in tinfoil and add a piece of fruit as a kind of dessert. I use the "healthy harvest" whole grain pasta.

Hi Justyur, I love this site, too. Believe me, if you stick with their plan, you will see results!

My breakfast is: 1 c. whole grain cereal (like shredded wheat or Wheaties), 1/2 c. skim milk, 1/2 c. orange juice, 2 servings of fruit (banana, strawberries, cantaloupe). Sometimes I switch it up and have egg whites and toast, instead of the cereal.

Lunch is usually a sandwich, yogurt, and fruit/veggies and/or a salad. Today I had: 2 slices of whole wheat bread with PB& sugar free jelly, 1 Lit-n-Fit yogurt cup and 1 c. grapes, and 1 c. strawberries. I love spinach salads, with manadrin oranges, craisins, walnuts, and vingarette dressing.

Dinner varies because I'm cooking for my hubby, too, but usually I make one of the Spark recipes for the main entree, 2 servings of veggies, and 1-2 servings of whole grain (rice, pasta, dinner roll).

I don't drink soda anymore and I guzzle 64 oz. of water everyday. I also exercise 4 - 5 times a week.

The brand Meuller's sells whole grain pasta. Other ideas for dinner besides chicken and fish are: turkey, lean beef, shrimp, scallops, and meatless dishes (legumes, tofu) I really like the recipes on this site or on www.meals.com.

Wow, this post is really long...LOL! Good luck on your journey and take advantage of everthing on this site!

Hi there and welcome! At first I stuck to the meal plan, trying to pick meals that would work for me. Now I just use them as a guideline as to what food groups to eat and make my own meals. I found it very helpful to stick to the meal planner at first because I really had no idea how to get all those calories in a day (I'm in the 1200-1550 as well). The only thing I try is to reduce unnecessary calories from my regular meals, instead of using heavy cream for some sauces I now use fat free half & half. I found a salad dressing that has no nutritional value whatsoever (calorie free, gluten free, fat free, etc). I use whole wheat pasta or brown rice instead of their white counterparts. I eat whole grain breads and cereals. You know, just all those little things that add up to a lot when you do them for a while.

Hi everyone I just joined last night, and i am already addicted. I have tried many, many different diets after gaining my freshmen 15+ in college. I love the meal plans and planning out what i will eat the next day. It make shopping much easier.
My questions are about the meal planning. does everyone eat exactly whats on the plan or do you put some of your own foods in. Just wanted a little advice or a sample meal that some of you guys eat. I am in the 1200 - 1500 calorie range. I just dont really want to screw this up i hope this one works for good.
