Consistency with portion control is a big key to success IMO. Just eat a single serving of what he has cooked. Even if it tastes wonderful and you could eat three servings, try to tell yourself that it isn't the last time will ever be able to have "whatever it is." They aren't going to stop making the ingredients for "whatever it is" tomorrow, so one peice is enough. It helps me to think this way.

I know the feeling. My husband is not into dieting, but could lose 30lbs or so. My father, who also lives with us, is a great cook, and when I get home my father already has food ready. It is hard but I try my best to turn it down and go for the salad. I am not saying it is easy but I stick to it because I know that this is what I need to do. there are even times that my husband and my father get mad at me for not eating what they eat and ask why i dont eat real food. I know that it is hard but stick to it, or try to. If you find it hard still to say no try eating salad or something with low cals. for lunch so that you can eat dinner. good luck!

I am trying to start eating healthy so I can lose weight and have more energy but its hard because my boyfriend usually gets home before I do and cooks whatever he feels like. I eat it because its made and he made enough for me but sometimes its not always healthy. I try to eat just small portions but he is such a good cook. Any motivation to not eat like him. He is also trying to gain weight and he always asks me to but snacks and soda sometimes I do and the temptation just eats me up! Help I need guidance!
