| I saw the show but I was confused, I was wondering if it was a real family or just a group of actors. If this was in fact a real family all I can say is that it breaks my heart

| Sounds like I didn't miss much. Did anyone who watch it e-mail TLC?

| Doesn't sound like it was very well done. What a shame.

i saw the show last night and guess what? it sucked big time!! Just another reality show. I saw nothing about excerise for the kids and mom and dad together as a family, good healthy family meals. Simple and easy to make. Or low cal sweets that the kids could still eat along with the fruits. You just can't come in and take something away and not replace it with something else. Where did the house work fit in? Anyone have a clue??? Less to say..very disappointed. Wish i had never watched it. never did mention drinking water instead of sugarey drinks.

I missed the show also. I went to the gym and forgot to set my dvr. Sounds like I didn't miss anything. That's horrible about the crash diet thing. That stinks I kinda wanted to watch it but not now I guess.

I forgot it was on, but by your description, that sounds AWFUL!! Of course kids won't follow that! And, if anything, it'll give them a bad idea about dieting and lifestyle changes because WHO would want to eat like that for a lifetime?!? No one I know!

I watched the show last night and I have to say I'm very disappointed. It became obvious to me after just a few minutes that it was more about reality TV ratings then helping.
First off, the show emphasizes computer generated images to show parents what their children will look like at forty if they continue to eat poorly. The "before" pictures depicted each child in t-shirts with poor grooming habits and one child even had broken glasses. The "after" pictures instead depicted the children in suits with neatly groomed hair and contacts. These things aren’t related to fitness.
Secondly, the diet program for the children was akin to a crash diet. Instead of teaching them about healthy foods and how to make smart decisions, all the junk food was put in the living room with a hidden camera to track if anyone dared to touch it. When one child did sneak a snack, he was berated until he was crying. The new meals provided to the family were tofu stir fry and unflavored oatmeal. Of course children who are used to eating sugary snacks are going to resist that type of diet.
In the final segment of the show, the children were forced to go to a Chinese buffet with measuring cups and spoons to control portion sizes. Then they had to hold a "block party" to teach their neighbors about their new diet. There is nothing worse then opening children up to public scrutiny to make them hate something. Are they really going to use a scale to weigh the cake at Jimmy’s birthday party?
I was looking forward to this show but I was hoping that it would teach the children and parents how to make wise decisions about food and moderation. Instead it was a reality TV show that involved a diet that is sure to fail, unnecessary rules and the tears of a child as he prepared to run away.

I saw that one advertised and it looked interesting. It seemed to me that it is about diet and exercise with our children...how to prevent obesity, promote healthy living, etc.

| I noticed that they are coming up with a new show called Honey were killing the kids. I think it's a show about teaching parents how to make the right choices for their children, instead speaking through food tell them and show them how we feel. I think it's going to be interesting. Just wanted to know if any other people were going to be watching the new show?
