| I wish I was there for this World Cup. I was stationed there for the last one when Germany made it to the finals. It was very exciting everywhere.

| Different timezones just means I'll need to use my DVR =)

" I'll have to try to watch more this year."
You'll have an excellent opportunity: the World Cup, in German, starting June 9th.
The timezone difference is a pain, but nothing like the last Cup, which was in Korea & Japan.

| I played soccer for years but don't get a chance to watch much of it. I'll have to try to watch more this year.

Freddy played OK yesterday; started out on the left front but was moved to the center front. He got an assist on both DC goals.
It still seems like he gets knocked around quite a bit by the older guys.

| Not a big fan of Soccer, but what is the latest with that really young kid that was playing for DC United - Freddy Adu?

DC United had their season opener against the NY Red Bulls yesterday. They played a lackluster first half and were down 0 - 2, but came back to tie.
The funny thing is, if I hadn't been working on my Spanish by listening to Spanish-language radio, I don't think that I would have known. I'm not sure they're even being marketed to non-Hispanics.
The game was on cable, at least, and they had a pretty good turn-out: 24,000.
