HI everyone. I just finished my first week here. I love it!!! This is just what I needed. This past week was a lot funner than the first two without spark...
Don't let the scale fool you. If you don't see the pounds drop it usually means the inches did!!!

| Good Going.. with this site...

|
| Today is my second weigh in, I've been here just about a week and a half. I lost 2.2 the frist week, and this morning my scale read the exact same! :( Oh well though. I know I'm here for more lifestyle change than immediate weight loss. And I feel alot better since I've been tracking my food and exercising and drinking the water...It feels good to do good for yourself!

| I know what you mean about keeping your mind on something other than the exercise. I have my Gazelle by the television - well, in my bedroom EVERYthing is by the television...lol. My point is, I put on my favorite show and will do what needs to be done while it's on and before I know it, the show is over and I'm pooped.

|
| I know how the lack of motivation to work out can be! I've been here a little over a week now too, one thing that motivates me is getting to check off things I want to track! =) I have found that having an exercise machine is much easier to use when it's in front of the TV, then you have something to keep your mind on something other than just the exercise and it goes so much faster.

| Yea, I just don't want to do the exercise either but I force myself otherwise I'll just sit like a bump on a log. I have a Gazelle here in my bedroom that I use once in a blue moon but the dang thing leaves me so lightheaded when I get off of it that I don't use it that often. For now, I'll stick to the walking - I prefer being on terra firma anyway. :P

|
| So the recipes are really good eh? I'll have to try some of them out. I have type 2 diabetes but can't use the artificial sweetners - allergic to all of them (which is okay because they leave a nasty taste in my mouth anyway..lol). Congrats on the 15lb loss!

| I have also been here about 1 week and have really been enjoying the site. My biggest challenge is exercise, just don't want to do it! Smoky, I have fibromyalgia so I often have pain also, the worst in my hips and lower back, so I can relate. I am also trying walking and I recently ordered some Leslie Sansone DVDs that were recommended to me. Hang in there, we can do it!

I have been here probably 1 month or so, but I love every minute I get to talk to people, I have made email pals with a lady in Canada, and one in the U.K. And let me tell you about some of these receipes(?). They are wonderful.. After finding out I was Diabetic type 2 I flew to this site..I have lost probably 15 lbs. and am pushing for 80 lbs... hang in there, it gets better...

I've been here for a week now - found this site through a diary I read online. This lady mentioned SPARKpeople.com and I thought I would check it out. I like it a lot more than FitDay.com. My biggest problem is willpower but so far in the three weeks that I have been "dieting" I've lost 3 lbs. I have little support here at home - family would rather sabotage my efforts than help so this time around I didn't say anything to them about losing weight. My main reason for losing is health - I just crossed that border into diabetes but the doctor told me that if I were to lose at least 80-100 lbs it could/would reverse itself soooooooo here I am doing something about it and hope that it does reverse. My one thing that I have trouble doing though is the exercise portion because I have lymphedema in my legs and doing impact exercises is a no-no so I do as much walking as I can each day. Some days I can do a lot - other days I hurt so bad that I'm flat on my back most of the day.
As far as the Sparkpeople site goes, I have been looking around and like what I see. There's a lot of information on here that I have found useful. I wish everyone lots of success on their venture to a new lifestyle.

I know exactly what you are saying. It is nice to feel that there are others out there. It is very hard for me because many of my friends are very fit and naturally thin. I definitely don't fit into that category. I am hoping that being held accountable will help.
Good Luck!!!

| I feel more encouraged though I am not seeing results. No, I don't believe results will be THAT quick but I used to think that. So now I am just taking this a step at a time. I am glad to see so many people in the same spot I am. it gives me hope!
