| stumbled across the USPB championships on ESPN2 the other night and DVR'd them for my son to watch. He loved it!

| I've played at 300.. actuallythe second time I ever played. I didn't really understand teh rules well. This guy and I were shooting each other from about 10 feet apart around different walls. We both pulled back, and I said 'screw it' and ran around teh other side, hoping to catch him peeking out with his back to me. I was right, and shot him from about 3 ft away. Oops. Found out you're not supposed to do that.

| Just imagine being bunkered at 300 fps, 15 bps as close as a foot away... Fun stuff!

| I'm kinda glad we're at 275 for my 10 yr old. Doesn't hurt quite as much. he'll grow into 300 at some point, and learn what it really feels like.

| What speed do your local fields make you play? Seems to be 275 fps out here.

| Went on Monday night and did ok. only a few welts. but also handed out a few. it was indoor at paintball palace in Eugene. fun fun fun. I think there was some cardio in there.
| Now that'd be interesting... I'll have to try that next time.

You should give him a proposition. He gets something if he can shoot you before you shoot him. You get like... 10 balls and he can use a full hopper. Better make it a good prize!

| I want to play, just haven't had a chance at all in the last 2 months. My son and I took them to Ohio over spring break at my parents house and shot some trees in the woods (he doesn't like doing 1 v 1 with me).

Everybody is the target... haha!
I had a good day today, shot lots of people, got shot just as much.

| I think Im going paintballing Mon night with teenage boys. guess who the target is going to be.

We had a problem with screws on the trigger assembly coming loose and leaking air. Other than that, they've been great.
I've seen some nice Tippman's, and might give that as a 'reward' to my son at some point. But we'll see.

| I'm a tippman man myself. Bought one used for 40 bucks, spent 50 on parts upgrades and have a great gun that never splits and fires true every time. I haven't played in almost 2 years but am going to get back into it this year. My last game was a 24 hour scenario game with 500+ people. That was incredible.

| he was having problems with internal air leaks. I've seen a few spyders have the same problem. We call it the spyder curse. Of course I prefer my tippmann, so i'm biased.

Yeah, the mechanical blowbacks are very simple. Even the high end electro-pneumatic guns aren't that difficult.
Spyders are probably the easiest... Bolt pin out and everything just falls out the back... haha.
| We haven't. I can split balls pretty easy if I fire too fast, but I'd bet that would be fixed with a powered hopper. We clean and oil after every significant use. I've been making him clean his own gun so he learns how they work. I was kinda surprised how simple they really are.
| What were the problems, exactly? Did he clean and oil it?

| have you had any problems with your sonix? A friend of mine bought one and had problems from day one. He's so frustrated with it that he got rid of it and is in the market for a new marker.

| Spider Sonix... got them as a 'package' from the local Bass Pro Shop here in town - mask, hopper, gun, CO2 tank.

That's cool... Didn't see that show.
What guns do you have?

We're playing out at a field that has a speed course, but we only play on that for 1v1 or 2v2 games for jokes. It's funny to put my son and his friend (both 10) on the speed field and let them go at it. Last time my son accidentally shot his buddy in the groin. He cried for about 2 minutes then got back in to try and get my son!
We're in Oklahoma. I don't know if you watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition, but the one they did in OK a few weeks ago was shot about an hour from here. The one kid was a paintballer, so one of the segments they shot was at the field we play on with a pro they flew in for it. Then they don't end up showing it on the show. Kinda sucks.
| Oh yea, where are you located?
Are you playing recball in the woods? If thats so, he shouldn't be out in the woods with you, or at least take it easy.
I used to play woodsball but I got into speedball and I'm stuck. No way out... haha!

I've been really impressed with my 10 yr old and his buddy. they've taken some hard shots (hard enough to make them cry for a minute), but they got right back in the next game and played very hard.
I have a hard time convincing my son that sitting in the back of the field shooting 500 balls in a game doesn't help a whole lot. We've been working with him on advancing and using his small size to his advantage. He's getting there.
My biggest frustration with the field we play on are the kids who's parents have bought them every conceivable upgrade, so these kids shoot 15-20 shots/second. We're out on a 'fun' field, and one guy just mows down our whole team. Not because he's good, just because he can shoot so many at a time. Very frustrating.

We've got a couple of girls who play with us. I keep trying to get my wife to go, but that requires a babysitter. So add that $50 on top of the fees and it gets really expensive.
I always get a laugh out of the boys trying to act goofy around the girls. That's probably why they school the boys so much on the field!

It needs to get warmer!
Anybody play speedball?

Nice to see that we have a few members that are into paintball. I've been playing for about 8 years now.
Here at the SP office, I get a bi-annual paintball outting for the SparkPeople employees. Although this year the weather hasn't been cooperating. We had to cancel twice now.

My nephew has been after me to try this out with him! (wink) Since he has committed himself to Spark himself maybe I will have to join him sometime.
By the way congrats on the weight loss Bigball89! Keep up the good work!
