Hi! Today is my first day! I've spent most of the last 2 hours pouring over this site. I think this is a great tool to help track and motivate me on my journey.

Love the idea of Fast Break. What a great way to introduce yourself to a lifestyle change without rabbit food and intense workouts all at once. Most people's down fall (mine included) is wanting it all NOW and then claiming failure and giving up altogether too soon before real results even begin to show.
Can't wait to meet you all!

Hi everyone!
How is everyone doing? I have moved to the 2nd week of the FastBreak. I am still having trouble with the water and the exercise but at least I got started yesterday again. I went for a walk and finally did get the water in. I know that I drink too much coffee but I can only drop so many addictions at a time! :)

I bought an exercise "wedge" last night, has anyone else seen them? It looks cool. I was originally going to get an exercise ball but this looked even more versatile. I'll give it a try tonight and let you know how it goes.

Take care! Joann

Well, things are going ok program wise except for drinking the water and getting in the exercise. I can hardly wait until all the muck dries up so I can get outside to walk. I had to let my fitness membership lapse because I couldn't really afford it. I will just have to find lots of "free" exercise to do!

How is everyone else doing?

Hi everyone!
its so great seeing so many people posting here! I just got back from my mini vacation in the "big city" and managed very well on program. Wednesdays are my weighin days but I waited until this morning because I got back home late last night. I lost another 8 pounds, so that makes a total of 23 in a month.I am very excited and happy with the way this program is working for me. I know the weight loss will soon slow down a lot but it has sure given me a boost when I needed it.

I love this site. It has so many great tools to help keep me on track and I am meeting some super people. I am truly blessed.

Take care everyone and keep working hard!

You can find a buddy on the message boards. I posted for a buddy in my first week and have been communicating with her since at least once a day. It is good motivation to keep me on track when I have someone that is interested in how I am doing and making me accountable. It is a bit of a self challenge. Be sure to drink your 8+ glasses of water each day. You will be surprised at how much drinking water will trick you into feeling full (especially when you are near your calorie limit for a day). Try starting with the exercises that are recommended on SP and as the weeks progress you can change them up some. For the last 2 weeks I have focused on concentration curls, body weight squats, calves, crunches, back extentions and back of arms through dips on a chair. I plan to move into stage 2 next week and maybe add an extra day to my strength training. Good luck and keep pushing yourself!

I started SP today too! I am finding lots of in formation on this sight and it's good to know that I'm not the only one.... I'm a 36 year old mother of 3 and need to lose 25-30 lbs. I want to make a life change not just be on a diet.... Any advice is welcome exp. where exercise is concerned. I need motivation in that area.

This is my first day too -- and second post. I had knee surgery many years ago and the slow accumulation of weight has finally become too much. Exercise is tough with this challenge, but I'm determined.

Nice to be here.

One thing that I gave up for Lent was sweets. It has been hard, but I am hoping that it will become a habit. Keep up the good work everyone.

Joann,

You are right. It just takes a lot of strength and prayer. I am going to do this. One reason why I need to eat better because the beautiful man I am seeing is in need of someone to eat healthy with him. He is a pretty average in size and he is very active and his levels are so bad it's dangerous. I am fluffy and I barely get near the danger area on my levels.
Two we may get married. got to look good for that. :)

It is so great to see people using this forum, it helps so much to have other people to do this journey with.

Take care!

Shelley,

I know the feeling. I usually just give up then because I just don't think it is worth it. Hmm, so what should we pray for? Perhaps we should pray that God gives us the will and the grace to be happy with whatever we do when it comes to this battle.

one here.... I have been in the group a week and I lost a 'whopping' pound. I've done well in hold back my excitement/ disgust whichever way I feel at the moment. I guess I'm excited cause my goal is a pound a week but disgusted cause I starved myself for a lousy pound.

Howdy Ya'll....I just started today. I am looking forward to this. I am hoping that this is it and I won't have to fret about it anymore.

Though I also am not putting too much faith into since nothing has worked before but who knows.

Any other Christians out there....love to get a prayer group going about this.

Welcome. I'm 4 days new to this site and am loving it. I've enjoyed tracking my calories eaten and burned, especially my fat intake. I've already lost about one pound in the 4 days. This site has really motivated me in sticking to my plan of getting down from 174 to 145. I feel empowered!! I hope you the best.

Well, I think I might need a new one. I went to the doc and of course they weigh you and I came home and weighed to see the difference; #6 fatter.....

Hi Shelley
I just use a regular bathroom scale. It is accurate to the scale I weighed in on at the doctor's during my last visit. I keep it in the same place and only have to move it minimumly to weigh myself.

My problem is that I used to weigh myself too often and would get discouraged with any fluctuations. Once a week works much better for me.

Good luck on Friday!
