Groove,

Those vitamins should be fine. I'm not sure that they are proven to help with weight loss, but they will give you the nutrients that a regular multi-vitamin will.

I take the "one a day weight smart" vitamins. Are these the same as the weight loss vitamins that we are talking about here? Are they okay to take?

I would not even consider expensive diet supplements at this point. I tried one once ( I think it was the original Hydroxycut) and deeply regreted it. I tend to suffer mood swings and this stuff just threw me for a loop. It literally took a couple weeks to get back to normal. I would suggest a good multi-vitamin if you are concerned about the nutritional aspect of dieting and leave it at that.

F,

If you do a search on Hoodia in the Message Board search, you'll find lots of threads on this topic. In short, I would save your money.

I read about something called hoodia. It doesn't claim to burn calories, it just says it will take away your appetite. Is this true?

C,

I would strongly discourage you from using any kind of diet pills/supplements. The reason these products work is because they contain stimulants (like caffeine) that speed up your metabolism and you lose weight. The problem is that as soon as you stop taking them, your body goes back to the way it was and you likely gain the weight back.

The other problem is that a lot of these products are not regulated by the FDA. So these companies can say whatever they want to about the effectiveness of the product, and no one's really checking to make sure they are telling the truth.

I would save your money and stick with a healthy diet and regular exercise. That's the best way to assure the weight you're losing is going to stay off long term.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi SP I know someone out there or a SP expert may have the answer to my question. I constantly see ads for vitamins that help weight loss. Has anyone had any success with anything? Thank You
