I have to agree with the others who recommended flylady. I don't follow everything she does, but have adapted her practices to fit my lifestyle. I'm a single mom of 2 kids, age 10 and 4, have a 3-bedroom house to look after on my own, and work full-time. Flylady has helped me keep my sanity!!

I was going to recommend flylady but I see she has already been mentioned.
The other day after dinner, I announced that we were doing something different. The kitchen needed cleaning and we were all going to do it. All four of us got it done in record time (counters, dishes, table, floor swept & mopped). Luckly my husband agrees that they guys need to help and is willing to help as well.

Get rid of the clutter. Less stuff = less stuff to maintain and clean. Adopt the rule of "New one comes in, old one goes out." So anyone bringin any new things into the home gets into the habit of getting rid of an old book, CD, shirt. etc.
Quit cleaning for the other people in the house unless they are so young they cannot do it. But really, even toddlers can manage to put toys in a box, and if they can't, get the number of toys down to where they can.
Consider dropping some activities. kids need free time that is unscheduled. For that matter, so do adults.

My best tip and sanity saver....
www.flylady.net
It helps me a ton!
Other ideas: - ask for help - drop some activities - set aside a day for to be alone or do what you like to do...a mental health day for mom
Don't forget to nurture yourself in the midst of all that you're doing. It's a tired cliche I know, but it is TRUE (that's why a cliche is a cliche...it's been said so often because it's true!!)
Try not to isolate yourself - homeschoolers especially have to work against that.
Glad you posted! Hope I helped some.
You're not alone!
Susan - mom of 5, homeschooler for 11 years and I run my own home business...whew! (I know about busy!)
