Hey, that's a great idea. Kind of like when the old WCCW teamed up with the NWA. Kerry Von Erich beat Ric Flair for the world heavy weight championship. Or When the UWF and the WCW started challenging one another, and then WCW took over the UWF. That's when the WCW became a threat to the WWF~Bruiser.

Know what I would love to see again. A few of the regional, local groups get together and make up another national group. (almost like WWE v. WCW) you have TNA wrestling trying to make the push... But it isn't working well because their show is only an hour long and on a day when it can't go head to head with any WWE programming (RAW, ECW, or SmackDown)

I think the biggest reason why WWE programming has gone down hill is because Vince don't have any real competition. Bring back the cometition, you'll bring back the quality

I usually call WWE "Man's answer to soaps" but I like your term better.

The story lines for the UCW are old school; good VS. bad. As for the WWE and their kind, I've grown fond of refering to them as 'Sports Opera's'~Bruiser.

The mainstream pro wrestling is more story driven. There's always a subplot going to the matches. I'll go looking for local wrestling in San Diego. I think there's a local group up in No. County, if I remember right.

Not really, nowadays there is more of the dum verbal abuse than the wrestling! I used to like it but not no more!

I go to some of the local matches here in Chicago as well. The average ticket price is about $10.00 to $15.00 and since my girlfriend enjoys wrestling as well (sometimes I think she likes it more than any guy I know) it's a great 'cheap date'

Hey ya'll. The only wrestlin' I've watched lately is some local stuff. You'd be surprised at how good the talent is and how much fun it is; not to mention how affordable it is. I've been goin' to UCW matches in Athens. After the match Rob Adonis gets in the ring for a five minute sermon, and all the wrestlers hang around for the fans. Of course they have a web site, I found it by lookin' for UCW and Rob Adonis. If you like wrestlin' the way it used to be, You'd like this stuff. Try to find some in your area~Bruiser.

Pro wrestling died for me with the original ECW.

I heard it came back on sci-fi channel and watched it twice...... Sadly it just wasn't the same and was a big letdown. Felt more like a WWE show with the ecw name.

Anytime one of the McMahons gets it, it's high comedy.

Chyna and X-Pac split up long ago. Sean (X-Pac) was very abusive physically and emoitionally to Chyna. In fact, it went so far that Chyna is essentially in "hiding". She used to have her own website and was very public. It's hard pressed now to find anything about her unless it's from a fan or a news site.

Chyna and X-pac did not get married. They had a very tumultuous relationship that was played out on radio shows, message boards and reality shows.

last I heard Chyna married X-Pac. it may not be hard to bring back DX in another form with Shawn, Triple H, and 2 or more other guys.

That would be cool if DX made a possible return. But not counting on it! It would be nice through. I too was a big fan, espically of China. All I got to say about her is WOW!!!!!

good point Hulk, I never thought of the DX crotch chop business as a possible return of DX. was a huge fan of DX when they were running wild. they were a bad influence, cuz I got ticked at a ref and gave him the crotch chop behind his back. lol glad I didn't get caught.

Hey ACEHIGHPAT. I was a big WCW fan until WWF bought them out also. Just FYI. There is another choice again on SPIKE TV Thursday's after Ultimate Fighting. It has somr familiar faces. Sting, Jeff Jarret, Rhino...

I am not a big fan of wrestling as I used to be. More of an old school fan. I remember growing up and watching World Class Championship Wrestling back when Texas wrestling was a hotbed. There were more choices back then other than WWE/WWF.

I only watch like once in a while now. There are other things that interest me from 9-11pm.

And another thought...
HHH is calling himself the "King of Kings" now. God has been referred to as the "King of Kings". Shawn Michaels has a tag team match at Backlash with "God" as his tag team partner. Both HHH and HBK did the DX crotch chop move at Wrestlemania. DX reunion perhaps?

Am I on to something here, or am I reaching just a bit much?

If the name doesn't give it away, I'm also a wrestling fan. I was very pleased with Wrestlemania this year, especially with the Mysterio win. Sure, it's all staged, and Rey's not really beating up on guys twice his size, but it still took a ton of hard work and determination for him to get to the point he's at now. You just know that when the WWE hired him, there was no way they were thinking of him as a future world champion. But Mysterio worked his butt off night in and night out, and he earned the title he's got now.

Don't get into the WWE, I watched Nitro when it was around. I'm like a couple of the guys on here. I'm starting to watch UFC. I watched a PPV event one night a couple years ago. Got hooked.

Not a fan of wrestling -- just don't see the lure of the sport. I am a huge football, baseball, and basketball fan -- even golf and tennis.

I hear you on that one. My son loves John Cena, and I dare not say that he is going to lose. I also hear you on the Undertaker, I think he is going to 14-0 this Sunday.

I think Triple H may win it, but I'm not about to tell my nephew his role model John Cena may lose or I won't here the end of it. Undertaker Mark Henry will be good to, am pullin for the deadman. if ya think Undertaker is scary lookin on t.v. you should see him in person, he'd scare Freddy Kruger.

Sounds like the WWE. It is the man's soap opera. That is what my wife calls it. When it is on, she knows better than to interrupt me!

Yeah, he came back for the last ppv, then retired again, then he came back as Steve Borden, now Sting is coming back. Sounds like a soap opera.

lol...funny you mention TNA. I've never watched it, but last night it came on after Ultimate Fighting. I watched for a few minutes because they showed that Sting is coming back. Sting was probably my favorite of all time so I had to see what was happening.

Is anyone planning on watching TNA six sides of steel? I saw the tag match last night (Dudleys vs. the Canadians) A whole ppv of that stuff would be pretty bloody.
