| My boyfriend (of 6 years) is a baby too when he's sick. I have no sympathy because he hates to go to the doctors and doesn't take care of himself. If he's sick enough to go visit his docto0r, he's sick enough to be babied and taken care of but if he's whimpering that he doesn't feel good, I just point him towards the medicine cabinit and tell hm not to cough on me.

My hubby wants a lot of attention when he's sick to but I don't mind. He takes care of me when I don't feel well either. I had morning sickness bad for the first three months when I was pregnant with our little girl and to keep me from getting ill of the mornings he fixed his own lunch and would even fix breakfast on the weekends without me asking him to. Even now when I feel bad he'll cook for me or even wash dishes, clean the house, and take care of our ten month old daughter. Of course washing dishes is easy because we have a dishwasher but it's still sweet just the same.

Yes, it is nice to get everything I need when I am sick but I get everything I need when I am not sick also. I just hope I give as much as I get. My husband does not know how to complain. At least it seems that way.

Wow , what a wake up call you ladies need. I WOULD HOPE MY HUSBAND WOULD NEED ME IF HE WAS SICK - EVEN JUST A LITTLE SICK !!! WHO DO YOU WANT HIM TO NEED ??SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT BIG "PITY PARTY" HERE TO ME, FOR YOURSELVES. WHEN I DO NOT FEEL GOOD MY HUSBAND CANNOT FUNCTION. HE IS AFRAID HE IS LOSING ME SO HE SITS WITH ME AND GETS ME ANYTHING HE CAN THINK OF. WHEN HE IS ILL I WORRY I AM LOSING HIM AND I WAIT ON HIM HAND AND FOOT. AS MUCH AS HE WILL ALLOW. WHEN THAT MAN ASKS FOR ATTENTION - GIVE IT FREELY - HE WILL RESPOND IN KIND. FUNNY THING TO ME - WIVES EXPECT MORE FROM THEIR HUSBANDS THAN THEY ARE WILLING TO GIVE !!!! FIGURE I KNOW WHAT ALL OF YOU ARE THINKING. EVER THINK YOU MIGHT BE WRONG ? CANNOT WAIT TO HEAR THIS RESPONSE -- I CARE HUGS FROM ME TO ALL WHO NEED IT - INCLUDING THOSE HUSBANDS WHO, I THINK ,NEED IT THE MOST.

| Ha! This, I think, is true for most men... You know how women like to satisfy our 'safety fix' by getting a big hug from a huge man, makes us feel safe like our daddies used to do... Men like to get their 'nurture me fix' by getting taken care of from us wives; makes them feel like their mommies used to. Annoying, but sort of sweet. :-)

Children get a cold
Men get pneumonia.
Women just get on with it.

This is so funny, I didn't realize how common it is for guys to act like this. Good thing to know my husband isn't the only baby around Danette

I think most men are this way. My DH knows he does it. Last month my whole family got the flu, my kids got it first, then me, then DH. I think he acted more pathetic than the rest of us put together!

| DH is not 100% well yet. He still has a runny nose...booohooo.. I wish he wouldn't try to make me feel sorry for him, its just a runny nose! Ah, makes me crazy sometimes you know. EVER time he has to blow his nose, he says little things like, "oh my nose", or "my nose won't stop dripping"...just little things. I wonder what he would do if I did what he was doing...big babies I tell ya! LOL

| I completly understand my husband has stayed at home today because he is sick we also have a two year old son and today it seems like i have two kids and it drives me insane because he is a grown man you think they could handle their selves and take care of themselves it is ridiculous.

| Mayuko. *LAUGHING OUT LOUD* Your story made me laugh and hit home. I have a 6 month old and my husband came home from work a couple of weeks ago with the exact same symptoms you described and was just so whiny and helpless. I had two tired, cranky children on my hands that evening!

| hahaha! so funny BObloblaw! My hubby is still alittle sick. Today is his day off...he's moping around the house, lol. I think he feels bad or something because I was taking care of my screaming baby...hubby hasn't asked me to get him anything........yet(^_~)

Ack! I'm glad it's not just me. My husband came home from work last night with a sore throat. He asked me to get him some nyquil. Now mind you, he didn't have a cough or chest congestion, so I explained to him that the only thing in the nyquil that would help his sore throat was the active ingredient in tylenol. Which shouldn't be combined with alcohol, incidentally. So I gave him a tylenol.
Today he's ticked at me because I patronized him. Which I did. But that's what I do when people are being babies. So he's decided if he doesn't feel better, he won't be accompanying me to my parent's house and to visit my friend's new baby in case he's contageous.
Very considerate of him, except he's got a little nasal congestion and post nasal drip and I'd bet a dime to a baby's behind that he's not contageous.
Note to husband: grab a straw and SUCK IT UP!

too funny...
Back in the day when I lived at home as a child, when my dad used to get sick, he would limp around the house as if his whole body was broken. My mother, sister and I would just laugh and run the other way.
Boys...what can ya do?

| My husband is always a baby when he is sick too. Unfortunately, my son wasn't so good about it so daddy learned to take care of himself! I did feel a little sorry for him when he looked all sad laying on the couch! =)

Just wanted to share with everyone: my husband came home yesterday a sick. Upset stomach, a head-ache, a little fever, chills...etc... And he comes up to me and says "I'm sooo sick!". So of course I put him to bed, got his meds, got another blanket out, made okayu (a japanese form of food for when you are sick; its rice, but made with a lot more water. Its easy on the stomach.)and managed to take care of my baby. I don't complain so much if I have a little fever, or a little headache, or a stomach ache... But my son was so good; he just waited for me to get all finished up with daddy. He was playing in his chair, didn't say a peep! WHO'S THE BABY??? I just woke up; and my husband is whining from the bedroom...waaaa, my stomach hurrrrts! What would husbands do without us mommys!! LOL Have a great day everyone. Mayuko
