Good luck to you all, my son is 8 YEARS old and still doesnt sleep through most nights!!!! I'm happy to get 6 hours of sleep if it's unitrupted. He wakes up comes into bed with me but has to wake me up before he gets in. I've told him he doesn't have to wake me up just crawl in, I don't care, but nope every morning around 6, mom, mom .....

Talked to his counselor about him getting in bed with me cuz some poeple say he shouldn't be there at this age. His response was, who cares, do you? It's a security issue for him at this point(has lots of issues)and don't rush it, he will stop when he is ready.

I must say he goes longer and longer each night, it used to be around 1 or 2 am now it's around 6 or so. Which we have to be up at 6:30 anyway so it is getting better I guess.

Good luck all, hang in there.

My son picked up his mess behind him for the first time without asking yesterday. You know I just have to go get him something. He has been doing it all day today.

My first 2 (3 & 2 years old now) were such awesome sleepers as babies. Now, it's a challenge to get them to go to bed and go to sleep!!! Napping is the biggest challenge and my 2 year old has decided it's great fun to take the mattress off her toddler bed every day!!!! My 11 week old is still getting up every 3-4 hours. I'm with all of you sleepless parents!!! Hope we all get some good shut eye this week!!!

Mdulzer, mine is only 7 months, so I don't know what 17 month olds are supposed to do. Hope your daughter gives you a complete night of sleep! Mine seems to be taking the same path as yours - fighting naps like crazy!

When will she sleep through the night? She has started fighting taking naps in her crib too. She used to be so much better. Is this normal for 17 month olds? I want one complete night of sleep.

I know how you feel. I had to beg my husband to get me some medicine...I thought he was going to die the way he was carring on.

Beverage, I'm feeling much better - thanks for the good wishes! The baby is better too. She still has a runny nose, though.

Unfortunately, the hubby is still complaining. I think he's trying to get all his miles out of this.

Schnoogles I wouldn't wish this on anyone and now I am sick too. I wish you the best and have said more than my share of four letters while I was walking the dog under my breath.

Beverage, that's what I've had the last couple of days.... on top of that, I'm coming down with it too. Or I'm just so tired I feel like a four-letter word...

I did get to sleep in Saturday morning until 7. Whoo-hoo! And I was only up once that night.

I know how you feel...try having a sick baby and a sick husband. Don't know which one is worst.

My girls have been waking up at all hours for the last week now. I am so tired today I can't even see straight.

My daughter (17 months) didn't sleep well last night. She went to bed fine at about 8pm. Woke up at around midnight, slept w/us until 6. I am tired this morning, but she seems fine.

I haven't lost anything but I think I did good when my husband decided to pull up to McDonald's...I got a side salad and everyone else got all sorts of greasy things. Of course when we got home my 2yr old decided to eat most of my salad. I thought about not letting him but if he rather eat a salad than some fries and nuggets, I was proud.

My girl finally went to sleep last night just after 10. She woke up again at 11:30 and then didn't go back down until almost 1 am. Then she was up again at 4:30. This after being up with her for two nights in a row before! Oh well, at least last night I got a couple hours' sleep. That helps.

I love it when my girls (3 & 2) say "I love you so much mommy!" It makes my heart just grow and feeli like it is not going to fit in my chest. I can't wait until my youngest (9 weeks) says the same thing but, she shows me with her beautiful smiles!

I am a little discouraged right now. I weighed in after really exercising all week, eating right, drinking all of my water and I didn't lose an ounce (although I didn't gain either). My body just isn't ready yet to give it up!!!!

Momtomiss, welcome! Beverage, awww. How sweet!

My DD napped today - she went down about 8:15 am our time, and I logged on to SP to wind down before I took a nap too. At 8:30, a crew showed up to do work on our apt so they kicked us out. I had about 5 minutes to throw on pants and grab the stroller. !@$!@!!! Luckily, I got lots of walking in. She just fell asleep. I'm going now too.

The greatest thing that I heard while I was away for the weekend was when I called my son on the phone and he said I love you mommy. He is only 2. I had to shed a tear for that one.

Can I join you? I feel eternally sleep deprived.

DD will be 13 months next week and has just started sleeping through the night. Most nights, we are still up with her at least once. So, while she is finally sleeping better, it certainly isn't consistent.

Yay TMJavon! Glad to hear you got some sleep. My daughter gets her second 1/2 of flu shot today, so it will be a rough night. Last night was very rough - she was quite congested and up constantly. I paced the floor all night. And my stupid pedometer didn't even record the steps! !@$!@^$@#!!!!

Andersst, I keep fresh fruit and veggies cut up and ready to go in the fridge. That way if I get snacky when I'm up with her, at least I have good food handy. Right now I have grapes, pineapple, peppers, and carrots in handy containers in the front of the fridge. I put the peppers on top of the Valentine's candy so that I have to consciously move them to get to it - and that always deters me. LOL!

YEAH!!! Annika (9 weeks) woke up at 1:30 and then again at 5am. but, the night before, she went to bed at 9:15pm and slept until 5am. I can't wait until she is a little more consistent. It seems that the more tired I am, the more I tend to eat (or I eat the worng stuff!!)

Kraig slept all night last night! I woke at 4am, and he was still sleeping. Doing the happy dance! It won't last, but I enjoy it when it happens!

Kraig got his RSV injection yesterday, so he was pretty cranky yesterday! He also slept very very little, so he went to sleep yesterday evening at 530p--and woke up at 3am. He went back to sleep at 4am--and I get up at 445 to get ready for work. Crazy life I lead.

Wow, I guess I can't complain with mine, so many of you are so incredible!! I hope everyone is getting some sleep.

With the fruits thing; I usually cut up some oranges in the evening and keep them in a tupper on the kitchen counter so anyone can eat them...so its not such a bother. And also bananas are easy too. My DH is quite fussy when it comes to fruit; he will never go and eat an apple or orange on his own, he says its too much of a hassle. But if its already peeled and cut up, he'll eat it.
Going to get some sleep before I end up playing games on the computer all night...lol

I like the fruit and veggie tip too. I just had a conversation with my husband that we need to keep more fruits and veggies on hand.

Yeah, I have my days when I think I must be the most exhausted person ever too. Keeping fruit and veggies handy helps - that way if I snack out of exhaustion, at least it's healthy!

I can relate! I have a 9 week old who tricked me last week by actually sleeping through the night. Now she is back to getting up every 2-3 hours. I also have a 2 year old and a 3 year old who I am constantly listening for on the monitor since my 2 year old had a febrile seizure in December! I am also back to working full time and have my 11 year old step son living with us. I don't know what a full night's sleep is anymore. I am trying not to use sugar as a quick boost but, sometimes that is all I have!

My sleep is better than it used to be--I wonder now how I functioned at all! Kraig still wakes most nights; I keep hoping for that magic night he will sleep for more than 4 hours at a time. He's 15 months birth age, 12 months corrected.

I can totally get in on this thread. I have a three month old that wakes up about every three hours to eat and a 2 y/o that falls out of bed at least twice each night and a 5 y/o that gets up at least once a night to use the potty and turns on every light in the house and makes so much noise that there's no way to not wake up. I just might be the most tired person on the planet! I have noticed that I eat worse food when I get less sleep, I need to clean out my pantry so I don't have any temptations.
