My main motivation is that I want to begin my new life with my FI healthy. I want us both to be healthy and active so we can be good role models to our future children.

Also I want to look amazing in my wedding pictures so when I look back at them I can remeber how great I looked and felt rather than being embarrased.

I also want to wear a bikini on my honeymoon. Its been a long time since I've worn one of those!

My motivation is my heart and my family history of diabetes and the snotty way the girl who measured me for my dress and my future family(which I haven't even started yet). When I was 24, I went through alot of problems with my heart including cardiac rehab. But the way that girl at my bridal shop acted when she measured me got my blood boiling more than anything, I made a promise to myself that when my dress came in that i will be down to where I want!! Sometimes revenge is the strongest motivation!

My motivation is that I was diagnosed with diabetes late in college and at this point I want to just worry about sugar. I'm all diet controlled but I try to make sure to avoid things that impact my glycemic index too as they usually make me feel sick. On top of that I want to be in shape! I don't want flabby arms or back fat. Also my big motivating factor is that I'm in another wedding in October and the dress I ordered is one inch smaller through the bust and the waist. I HAVE to lose the weight or risk buying another dress! I think that's great motivation.

lara - boudoir pics are artful, non-nude, yet risque pics of you. it seems to be a new trend for brides who give the pics to their hubbys as a wedding gift. also a trend as a gift for the first anniversary (tradition is 'paper'). not just for the husband however - i'm mainly doing this for myself and my confidence. i'm nervous as heck.

Anyway - i need to get my arse in gear!!!!

Ok, really stupid question but what is a boudior session???

I just want to look my best on my wedding day! Plus, I signed up for a boudoir session one month before the wedding and so now I HAVE to look my very best! I think setting up the b-pic session has been the biggest motivator - because mainly I am doing it for myself and my own confidence. He'll just be lucky to see them!

Plus, my dress has had major alterations, and the last 2 fittings I've had it has been a *slight* struggle to get zipped up. NOT OKAY. Luckily, I'm OK on the back fat. Now the belly fat....that is a different story!

I was actually thinking about that this morning. The wedding has motivated me to get started, but it's a lifestyle change. Keeping track of what I'm eating and exercising will hopefully continue to be a part of my life once the wedding has come and gone.

when i started SP in Apr 2006 ,my motivation was to look good in my wedding gown. after the wedding (and yes, i was at a healthy weight) my motivation shifted to proving that once u get married u can't let urself go, u have to still look cute and thin ;) so far so good LOL

My motivation is looking GREAT in my dress, getting compliments from all my guests, and looking back on the wedding pictures and feeling proud of how I look in them.

to look great in my wedding dress and to lose the unwanted pounds before becoming a mom

I've already bought my wedding dress, but I'm really kind of worried about the cost of alterations. The length is perfect so it won't have to be hemmed at all, but I know the top is going to have to be taken in. Augh! The benefits of losing weight are awesome, but hopefully it won't cost too much!

I'm already married, but it was my engagement and wedding pictures that first gave me the idea I was fat...still took me 2.5 years to do something about it, but better late than never, right?

I bought my dress in March for a June wedding...a week before the wedding, I had to have a corset back put in because the dress wouldn't zip...therefore, I felt like I cow on my wedding day, even if no one else knew the dress didn't originally have a corset back! That same dress now falls off of me - won't stay up, except for the spaghetti straps.

I totally agree with the under the arm fat. I seriously don't want it flapping in the wind when I wave goodbye after the reception!! I found a photo of the back fat bride and posted it on a bulletin board that I see every morning! GREAT motivator!

I bought my wedding dress a size smaller than what I wear. I tried it on on Friday and it fit--talk about motivation. I told my mom now I want to make sure it has to be altered.

I also just want to be able to wear my old wardrobe. I have great stuff my fiance has never seen me in because it has never fit since I met him. By July I will be wearing my size 6 sun dresses again.

I want to wear shorts and a bikini this summer (my legs are so not toned) and hang out with my kids at the pool and not wear jeans all summer for the 3rd summer in a row!!!

Most motivational thing is looking good on the beach for our honeymoon and if I decided I like a slim fitting dress - well since I am determined I won't have to put that one back on the shelf :-)

Here is my wedding-related motivation... obviously, I have other motivating factors that have little or nothing to do with the wedding.

Obviously, I want to look hot in a swimsuit (and out of it!) for the honeymoon. I just want to be overall toned and slim, but still curvy and womanly... gotta have those curves for a bikini!

Another big thing for me is the first dance. I want to look coordinated, graceful and confident, which will be a lot easier if I am thinner first!

Last but not least, I want all this extra weight gone before I even THINK about buying any wedding or honeymoon clothes. A dear friend of mine ordered and THEN decided to lose weight... she's done well and looks awesome, but her dress alterations costs are crazy!

Well, i've been big since i was 6 or 7. I want to look good for my wedding, and after my wedding too! I was diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure a few years ago, and that was a big wake up call for me. Now i'm 50 pounds lighter from my heaviest weight, and just lost another 3 pounds since i've joined Sparkpeople! I would like to get around 165... 160, but any progress is good progress.

I want to tone my triceps because i've always had that "chicken wing" and i would also like to lose my inner thigh fat! Those are the 2 spots that i don't like about myself. Everything else is fine :D

Hahah, when I started all of this, my motivation was just to not be FAT in my wedding dress.... But now, since I've started spark, I can't have the wedding only mentality-- I also have to stay in shape POST wedding!!!

But add another "I do not want icky back fat" on my wedding day to the list!

I like the back fat as motivation. I also don't want that under arm, or triceps jiggle. My dress is great and will hide a number of sins, but it is strapless, so all the upper body needs to be in great shape before September! I want sleek shoulders, tight biceps and triceps, NO BACK FAT!! I want to look better then my bridesmaids, only one of which weighs more than she should, the other 3 are tiny, little no nothing wisps - I love them, but they should really die!! I want all eyes on my gorgeousness!!

That is funny!!!! Girl I have a picture of my son's dad's wedding...it is of him (my son) his dad and his "wife"...she had their daughter 2 days later...I keep that picture because you can see how mad my son looks...his dad was trashed....and she looks like a cow...and her dress was beyond horrible....soo that is my motivation to look good....he still tells me I look better then her...to bad he can't have me!!!! LOL.....and the funny thing is we (me and my fiance) are gettin married on November 10th...the day she had their daughter...my son has to miss his sister's bday party but ohhh well....his dad doesn't even care...

Funny motivational story...

I went to my fiance's first crush's wedding this past summer. I know this sounds terrible, but when I get sluggish and don't want to work out, I think about the back fat that fell over the back of her strapless dress as she walked down the aisle. I seriously don't want any of my guests to even think about looking at my back fat!
