My colors are almost the same: champagne, chocolate brown and chartruse (sp?). Now that I've read this thread I'm more confident about the black tuxes and brown vests and ties. All I had figured out was black tuxes with a champagne or ivory shirt, I didn't know if the brown accents would look good with the black. As for my MOH she is wearing the same thing as the bridesmaids (2). They are wearing chocolate brown top and tea length skirt from David's Bridal with the dyeable shoes to match. It's affordable to them and the color is great and fit all the body types of my bridesmaids.

I think the colors sound fine together. As for the MOH matching the BM or not is a personal choice. I have been to weddings where they have mached, and others that they are in a different color. I haven't decided on colors for the wedding, so I am not sure what I am going to do. It is YOUR wedding, so it should be something YOU want!!

The groomsmen for my wedding are wearing black tuxes with chocolate brown vest and tie and i think it looks great and I have seen it a couple times before. My groom is going to wear and ivory vest and tie to be different. I originally wanted chocolate brown suits, everyone thought I was crazy 10 months ago when I suggested it, they were thinkin 70's style, but the stores are now starting to carry one or two styles. We arent going to use them though b/c they look too "Zoot Suit" and aren't a dark enough brown. Brown is really hot right now and considered fashionable when mixed purposefully with black.

Go to DavidsBridal.com.....they have that whole color schem on there...it is chocolate/black & pink but still...it looks really good...my bridesmaids are wearing truffle and the groomsmen were gonna wear the truffle w/ black tuxes but since we are doin the whole wedding in camo the groomsmen's vest and ties will be camo w/ black tuxes.....as far as the bridesmaids....my sister wants her maid of honor dress to be different but dunno....but now my other bridesmaid will be 8 months pregnant for the wedding so I may just tell them to get whatever style and just make sure it is the same color

My sister-in-law chose chocolate brown and black for her wedding a couple of years ago. She had four attendants and alternated the girls in black and brown. It looked really nice.

whatever you like will be beautiful...your moh can wear something different or the same thing, either way will be beautiful, and brown and black, it's allowed, i've seen it done beautifully

First off, I think it's totally acceptable to have your MOH match the bridesmaids, or have her in something different. I've seen both done, and done well.

In terms of the colors... I think it sounds very pretty! It makes me think of autumn. Brown and black CAN go together and look wonderful - it's a matter of using the colors in the right way. If it looks like you're trying to 'match' black with brown (i.e. a VERY dark brown that's almost black), it doesn't work. If it's a rich but not super-dark brown (like milk chocolate), it's a very elegant color pairing.

My colors are the same as yours, although I'm also adding in some pink. I'm using Bill Levkoff 966 dresses for the maids in Euro Sable / Euro Champagne and switching the maid of honors colors opposite of the other girls. I have seen some pictures of brown vests and ties with the black tux and surprisingly it looks fantabulous. I think the problem when most people try to think of brown/black together is that you are thinking of flat colors; however, the vest/tie are shiny and the tux is matte therefore it's a completely different look. I've also thought of going w/champagne vest/ties but either or will look good.

Hey ashley

I think that your colours are very classy!
I've been in a couple of weddings as bridesmaids in the first one we all wore the same in the other the only reason that the MOH dress was different was because she was pregnant, but our dresses were the same fabric and similar style. As for brown and black, are you meaning for the tuxes? Brown tie etc. In keeping with the colour scheme maybe copper for the guys wearing with the tuxes, it is still "brown" but I think that it would still look great.

good luck

I am "thinking" about having my wedding colors be....sage green, champange, and chocolate brown. I guess I have two questions here: A-Does the maid of honor have to have a different color dress and B - will brown and black look hideoius together?

Thanks,
Ashley
