Dont stress about it. The same thing happened with my dress. Its way too big in my upper body. I had no idea that I lost that much weight. But hey...Its great for me. I just had to get a good bra that kinda filled in the rest along with minor alterations. You'd be suprised what a great seamstress could do for you.

I would not worry, they say that your dress is sized to fit the biggest part of you and the rest is taken in. so do the alterations and it will be just fine. PLus it is easyer to take in then let out.

ok so after iw as reading some posts on here the other day i decided that i would check out the website of the place i bought my dress from and it brought up a review of the place....NOW IM FREAKING OUT!!! so most all of the reviews were absolutely HORRIBLE! terrifying stories about how the dress came in too small of a size, they didnt order the correct dress, the dress took way longer to come in than 6 months and then it was too late to order the dress in a correct size etc....i dont know what to do!! i am of course hoping it doesnt happen to me, but then i dont want to be so arrogant and then have it happen to me!! j

Oh ok, I thought you meant it was too small. See if you can have some last minute alterations done to the dress. It really depends on the style of the dress. Also take a photo of your self in it. The differences that you are looking for may not be noticable at all. Good luck and congratulations.

i haven't even got a dress yet and big day is only a month away.however, from trying dresses on before just for fun one thing i noticed is that the only place a wedding dress seems to fit is the waist.

The only place my dress fits right now is my waist. It is too big in the chest and a little snug in the hips. I am having alterations done to mine in a month so hoping to slim down the hips. It will all work out. DOnt panick!!!

i got my gown directly off the shelf. was on corset dress and the skirt fitted perfectly...in Sept! two months later, on my wedding day, the corset top was ok but the skirt was little loose. fortunately i could tie it tight as they leave room for that (a very ingenious system): actually the dress can fit 2 sizes and anything in between them.

I was told by many friends and family that wedding dresses almost NEVER fit properly when they arrive. I had to order a size that would fit my chest, and unfortunately that means that it is way too big in the waist. The key is to have someone that will make it fit YOU. This dress will bne perfectly altered to your shape and size. Just think how awesome it will be when you put on your dress and it fits like it was made for you, on your wedding day!!!

Good Luck!

They will get it fixed! It'll turn out gorgeous. You're friend will do a great job to make your special day wonderful! I can kind of understand, because all my bridesmaid dresses need alterations. It's just one of those things you have to deal with and fix as they come. GOOD LUCK! I hope it all works out for you!

i was told when i ordered my dress that most of the time the dresses will be too big in the chest...i have big tata's and i know it will be too big for my chest! its not your fault that it doesnt fit perfectly, none of us can just put on something and it fit perfectly, NOT EVEN SUPERMODELS....they get alterations too! it will all work out in the end...so keep your head up and dont worry! j

Yes, I am. I just feel horrible because I wanted it to fit. My friend has a degree in fashion design and is making the bridesmaids dresses and doing my dress alterations. I just feel so disappointed in myself because of this.

Are you doing alterations on it? Any good bridal shop should be able to fix that. My bridesmaid dress for the last wedding I was in came in 4 sizes bigger than it was supposed to. It only took them about two weeks to do the alterations.

My dress just came in and it doesn't fit. Well, I should rephrase that. It's too big in the hips, just right in the waist and too big around the chest. It's only 5 weeks til my wedding and I'm really upset about it.
