| Hi guys, I am going to be a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding soon too. I have lost some weight already but have 10-15 pounds I'd like to get off that haven't budged for almost six months now. Best of luck to everybody!

| depending upon the dress store, you may even be able to exchange your dress for another size, up until a certain point. For example, say you buy the dress to fit you now, and you do end up losing a lot, and instead of taking it in you can exchange for another size (so there is not SO many altherations). They may say, as long as it is before 3 months before the wedding or something. But I know all places do it differently so you should ask if they are willing to do that when you order your dress.

| thanks girls...I think I am going to really stick with my weight loss efforts until we order the dresses and then order the size that fits me then. when may rolls around, i'll just have to take it in. oh well, i rather lose weight than save money. thanks for the advice!

hang on, don't you dare put your weight loss on hold for the wedding. you're doing great with your progress! stick with it.
i would recommend you buy a dress that fits at the time you purchase it. there's nothing wrong with having it altered closer to the wedding date so that it is a good fit to your size at that time. most likely you'd have to have the dress altered anyways, so don't worry about it. it's no big deal to take a dress in, it's letting a dress out that you have to be worried about.

I suggest that you order your dress in the size that fits you now. If your true size is smaller when the dress arrives, it will feel so much better if you have to get the dress taken in, versus the other way around.

Hi everyone! I've already had my turn at being the bride but now I have been asked to be a bridesmaid in May. I am sure we will order the dress by January of February at the latest but I wanted to lose weight into May. So, what should I do about sizing issues? I initially wanted to lose down 27 lbs by May but now I fear that I will have to put my weight loss plans on hold for this wedding...I can't let that happen! So what should I do about sizing? Anyone else had this problem? Should I order the size that fits at the time and then if it's too big later, worry? or should I order a size down? I am petrified of ordering something that might be too small, how embarassing....
Let me know if anyone else has had this dillemma or if you have advice.
Thanks.
Sarah
