A Christian is someone who follows God's will more than their own and believes that Christ is the way to heaven.

I TOTALLY agree with everything Spiretled posted. Especially what she said about Jesus being the way(way to heaven).... John 14:6 says "Jesus said unto him, I am the way,the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father , but by me" I dont have anything to add because Spiretled said it so well.

James is a great book on Christianity. James 1:26, 27 says "If anyone among you thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one's religion is useless. Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and wisows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
A Christian is a person who has received the free gift of salvation that Jesus offers us because He paid the penalty for our sins, lives for Him and has a relationship with Him. He is the bridge between us in the world and God in heaven. Sin separates us from God. Think of a canyon - on one side is God, and on the other side is us. There's a deep chasm in between (sin). On the cross, Jesus made a way for us to go to the Father. We were created to worship God and have a loving relationship with Him. When we accept what Jesus did on the cross for us and ask God to forgive us of our sins and begin to live in God's will, we are Christians. Even when we sin, God looks at us and see us as forgiven and righteous. We are clothed in righteousness when we accept Jesus as our Savior.
