Like the other posters... it's not Chili's fault. As a consumer, you have to take responsibility for the products you purchase/order/consume.

I agree their menu choices are very unhealthy, but we have millions of other choices in this country. Patronize those with lower-calorie menus.

WOW. I love finding out info like this, any temptation I'd have to eat at these places just flies out the window! The same thing happened w/ me and my favorite burrito place. I found out my fave burrito contained 1000 calories, and I would eat that in addition to 2 other meals and snacks a day! No wonder I was packing on pounds.

I too always get the guiltless grill chicken pita at Chili's, I love it.

You know it's bad when you're better off with a fast food hamburger and small fries...

The guiltless grill items are pretty alright in restaurant standards. Most restaurants use cream, butter, etc. instead of lower cal/fat options that you may use at home-that is why it is so much worse for you.

I had Chili's yesterday for lunch, and the Guiltless Grill salmon was actually really good and healthy! You get a piece of grilled salmon, steamed veggies, and black beans for a little under 500 calories... highly recommended!

I've found that a lot of restaurants are really bad.

Even Applebee's which boast they have a healthy menu isn't all that great. They have a very small selection and they are still high on calories

i agree with what you say. i just wanted to add that after i got over the shock of the menu i found the guiltless chicken pita, which is delicious and very low in calories. i also found it very helpful to know how bad that food is b/c i'm not tempted by it at all anymore. i can happily order my pita while others choose the fatty entrees and not feel any food envy.

My fiance and I went out to Chili's to celebrate our anniversary. I hadn't eaten much during the day and chose a relatively healthy meal, given the choices-- just a steak and salad, side of mashed potatoes. I knew it was still going to be high. Little did I know...

In all honesty, it didn't turn out too be too terrible-- I still hit within my daily range, although on the "high end". However. What I discovered upon reading the Chili's nutrition guide is that THEY ARE TRYING TO KILL PEOPLE.

Awesome Blossom: 2710 Calories, 203 Fat. (!!!?!?!?!?)
Classic Nachos: 1570 Calories, 115 Fat.
Chicken Crispers: 1870 Calories, 129 Fat.
Fajita Steak Quesadillas: 1970 Calories, 106 Fat.

Even the salads-- a regular house salad miraculously has 7 grams of fat.

I am SO GROSSED OUT by this. What's worse is that they claim, ON THE NUTRITIONAL PAGE, that they offer healthy meals that are part of a balanced diet. Both my fiance and I cook, and there is NO reason for this kind of food to have so much fat, be so high in calories. This is sabotage of the worst kind. What on earth are they trying to accomplish here? Is there some kind of conspiracy to kill the american people? : / Ugh.

Anyways. Just thought you guys might want to know. Be careful out there!
