I think january should be fine to look at wedding stuff for november depending of course upon where you live and how far ahead other people tend to book things. My only problem with my venue is that its a bowls club, sounds hideous but its is beautiful as old people can afford beautiful, but because it is a bowls club ive had to book two dates and dont know until JUNE/JULY which date ill get! Im like HELLO!! Im paying a big deposit and potentially spending like $4000 with you guys.. who is more important?! Gosh i feel like a bridezilla sometimes but we have to be! Im quite lucky with the place i have chosen as the cost of the venue and cleaners etc is only $500NZ which is reasonable, catering at $17.50NZ per head including service e.g. staff to hand out nibbles, and i will put about $1000 worth of drink on. My gosh weddings cost heaps! Lucky my folks are helping out a bit!!

Hello!

I love the idea of an all-inclusive sort of venue. I don't think there are really any around here, though. Not that I've been able to find so far. I've keep an eye out for bridal shows, but so far they've all be at a location that hosts receptions, so I don't expect there would be many other sites represented. There's a big show in January held at a "neutral" site, but is that too long to wait?

Hello,
I too am a november 2007 bride. I am aiming to lose 1kg per week between now and then totalling 50kg or a bit over 100lb. While that is my ultimate goal i will be happy just to lose 40kg and get under the 100kg mark! I am quite organised being i only got engaged 6 weeks ago. I have a venue chosen that come with caterers and bar and music etc. I have picked my bridesmaids and flower girl and colour scheme and designed my invites and now the main thing is just to shift the weight. Im not worrying too much about the other stuff as i have a whole year but the weight loss is a top priority. I want to be sexy in my wedding dress and not have any regrets about how i looked!

Oh those, we don't have to start those until closer to the wedding, but I heard about that compatibility test. At my church is it 200 questions on a scan tron form so it can go through a computer to be read. Crazy, who knew you had to take a test to get married. Ha Ha.

Hey Katie-

The classes we have been taking so far have been one-on-one with the priest. We had to take a "compatability test" to identify any possible issues between us and to force us to talk about them before the big day. Now we have to sign up for a class like the one you took, and after we do that we will go back to meet with the priest to talk about it.

I am definitely going to join your Spark Team!!! See you there!

Yes the 12 month count down is fast approaching and I can't wait.

You sound like you too have much of your planning done. It feels good now to know I don't really have to do anything, but I know that soon will change and I will get busy again.

This past weekend we did your marriage preparation course at our church with the priest and the marriage prep team. If you don't mine me asking what are the classes like that you are taking?

I did Save the date e-mails through theknot.com to save some money and postage, but I would loved to ahve used our engagement picture to send them out.

Good luck with planning.

~Katie~

P.S. I started a SparkTeam called November 2007 Brides, come join if you like.

I'm a November Bride too!!!

November 23, 2007...I'm very excited. So far I've booked the church, reception, DJ, & Photographer. We're almost done with our classes with the priest, we got our engagement pictures taken last Monday, and our Save The Dates are addressed and ready to send out as soon as we get our pictures to add to them.

Things I'm DIYing...Flowers (I've done several weddings), Pocketfold invitations, programs, Table cards, & menus. I think that's it...

Best of luck to all of you in your planning...we're almost at the 12-month countdown!

November is a great time because it is considered off season for weddings so things tend to be cheaper and easier to book.

I know we have a lot of stuff planned and booked, only two more things to go, but I work shifts and am super busy trying to lose weight so I didn't want to leave stuff until the end and be stressed out. We are also having 187 people at our wedding roughtly and most are from out of town so the more I know and have booked the better for them.

I wish you all the best in your wedding planning and weight loss goals. If you ever need help let me know.

I was thinking about November '07, but you're way ahead of me as far as planning goes!

Sounds lovely, I really like your color scheme. 14lbs by February is a wonderfully reasonable goal!

Hello,

I'm getting married November 10, 2007. Our Theme and flowers are going to be white calla lilies and my colours are sage green, burgandy and navy blue. I started planning March of this year and have most things booked and pick out and some things bought, including my dress. I hope to lose 14 lbs by the beginning of February so that I can go for my initial sizing for my dress and feel great in it.
