We go twice a year, Memorial weekend, and Labor weekend. We have permission to camp on private land right near the river. At least 30-40 of us get together on these trips, family and friends. After doing it for almost 10 years we've really seen our families grow.
This Labor weekend will be even more special because my daughter will be getting married there.
You can ask for a more beautiful setting than the river framed by the Blue Ridge mountains.

| Yes. It was my first time ever. Not sure get the point of sleeping on the ground.

| Yes, tent camping with the girl scouts.

LOVE camping. And when I say camping, I mean real camping - no RVs or Cabins.
I can afford to vacation by camping. I can also control what I eat better because you don't have to eat out all the time.
Plus being in Nature is very grounding for me. I feel more relaxed after a weekend of camping than after a weekend when I've done nothing.
AIMAZON - Good to see another female unter. There aren't many of us :)

Bu I always fished and hunted with my dad when I was younger though
