Sounds like your having fun loosng the weight. I too am getting married Aug 19, but I have much more to loose, with me being over 200lbs I have already lost 10 lbs, I am hoping to get down to at least 185 before I get married. And to do that I've cut back on fried foods, and fast food.

Tami. If you do really vigorous house cleaning, that'll count as cardio. It's even in the Fitness Tracker as "heavy cleaning". Cardio's a problem for me, too. It helps having the elliptical in the bedroom because it sits there & stares at me if I don't climb on. Makes me feel so guilty. It really is just a matter of saying "OK. I'll do 5 mins." & then seeing if you can do a bit longer. Good luck.
Take care everybody. Helen.

Hi All!

Helen: Way to go on the weight loss! I am so happy for you. No the dress situation is not fixed. The bride is on it. I have told her, if I can help, to let me know. I 'm not to worried. Her dad is a lawyer, so it will all work out in the end.

Chris: That sounds so beautiful. My fiance and I are actually going to St.Luica for our honneymoon. You have to let me know what you thought of it!

Breeanne: Have fun at your shower! Mine is tommorow. I am sooo excited.

Well girls, I have to report that agaain, I am being really lazy with my cardio routine. I am eating right and doing my strength trainning, but when it comes to cardio..... I am lazy. I need to find a way to get myself motivated in this area. Any suggestions girls?

Well I am off to clean the house. Talk with you all soon.

Great job everyone! It seems like you all are doing terrific!

Hey girls. Guess what? Even after my not so good week, I've lost 2lbs. I'm so excited. I can see such a difference in my body already, & it's given me more motivation to carry on. Sometimes I wonder why I bother to deny myself the things I like, but then I look in the mirror, or someone will tell me I'm looking well, & I KNOW why I'm doing it. That's why we're all doing it.
Plus, I feel so much healthier, & I'm wondering if the healthy diet & all the water is helping my wound to heal faster. It's so much better today. I won't have any problem with going back to work tonight, although obviously I'll be very careful with lifting & stretching.
The weather's a bit better today. Much drier but still not too warm. Hopefully, I'll be able to get a little light gardening done, though the ground is quite wet. We'll see.
Have a very good day, ladies, & I'll catch up with you all later. Helen.

Helen...lighting a fire in June? Oh my! It's pushing 100 here.......of course it snowed three inches only 4 weeks ago too! Good job on you eating AND working out! I am being really lazy today but have ate well all week and have worked out everymorning so a day off can't hurt...hoping not to "blow it" tonight at the rodeo/dinner. Yea.....we actually booked the trip a year and 1/2 ago with some friends (we all scuba dive) then got engaged in Febuary and decided to get married on the trip! So yea we are really excited!

Chris, you lucky thing. St. Lucia! How cool would that be? And on the beach, too. I'm green with envy.
Breeanne, have a nice time at your shower. I hope you get lots of lovely things.
LadyJaz, the weather's not so great here, either. It's so chilly, that Jim has just lit a fire. In June. Can you believe it?
Tami, did you get the dress situation sorted out? I hope you didn't let it get you down too much.
Pixieflower, well done on resisting the icecaps. They sound nice but not worth going over your limits for.
Maureen, I hope you had a good day & managed to leave any more pizza alone.
I hope I got everyone.
I've had quite a good day today. I adjusted my strength training schedule so that I did just abs & lower body & I even managed 10 mins. on the elliptical. Carefully, I hasten to add. My calories & everything stayed at the lower limits of my range, so when I weigh & measure in the morning, hopefully, it'll all be heading the right way.
It's now 10.20 pm. & it's just started pouring with rain - again. With any luck, all the bad weather will be got out of the way now, & then August will be stunning. Talk to you later, Helen.

I just finished my strength workout. It was my first one. My legs are twitching!!
Helen- Eating a small piece of cake for your Dad's birthday is fine I think. It was a special occasion. I on the other hand, would eat a piece of cake, a giant cookie, or something like that at work everyday. I am having my bridal shower tomorrow. I am planning to have a meal off tomorrow. I have been watching my calorie this week and eating really light today so I can indulge tomorrow.

I am also a like glad I am not the only one not having everything for the wedding planned yet. I am getting married in 6 weeks. I still have to call about getting music for the reception!!

Hi everyone! Sounds like everyone is doing pretty well. Helen, i LOVE chocolate cake! Everytime you mention it, my mouth waters! haha

I'm really feeling motivated to have a great weekend - eating and workout-wise. The weather isn't supposed to be so great, but I can still work out indoors. I have about 2 months until my wedding and first fitting on TUESDAY! where did the time go???

Hi everyone. Tami, I do hope you get it sorted out. It's not funny when something like that happens. Good luck with it all. well done on the food side of things, though.
Chris & Maureen, good luck with your joint fast. I'll be thinking of you both on Monday.
Well done Breeanne, for passing on the dessert. You must be a strong person. I didn't pass on the birthday cake yesterday but it was a special occasion. I only see my parents about twice a year & it was so nice that they were here for my Dads birthday. I'll see them again for the wedding, though, which I realised last night, is only 7 weeks away. HELP!!! I still haven't got a photographer. Or flowers. Or rings. Or a suit for Jim. Or shoes for Gareth (my son). Well - I suppose we'll still get married, even without all those things. So there's no panic, then!!!!!
Catch you all later. (I just bought strawberries, so I think I'll go & eat some. After all, berries are a superfood) Helen.

Hi All!

Sounds like everyone is well. Not much new here. I ate right yesterday, but did not get in my cardio. We had a wedding disater happen, and all hell broke loose.
Here's the scoop:
My Bestfriend is getting married in December. We have all placed our orders in for our dreses, bride included. I found out yesterday that the company went bankrupt. I have no idea what the details are, but both the bride and myself are calling head officed today to see what is happening. We need to know if we need to go elsewhere to get the dresses. I am worried about her first and four-most. A wedding dress takes 6-8 months to arrive, and thats not including the month they take to do alterations. Mine came in within 7 months, and I am still doing my alterations.
Cross your fingers for us ladies. I really hope that everything will be fine.

Breanne, that is so nice that you gave away that dessert. It was very generous to both the co-worker and your body.

LaLA: All my days are pretty much the same, so if you choose a day, I can fast with you!! There is an 8 hour time differance, but we cans till make it work, obviously you can make it to the afternoon and so I can check in in the morning and we'll be doing great! Just let me know.

I am glad everyone is doing so well. I don't respond much but I do enjoy reading your comments it keeps me motivated to stay on track.

I too work in the food industry. I think that is why I gained so much weight in such a short period of time. I ate dinner there every night and would have desert (was really good), I have worked 3 nights this week without eating unhealthy, I opted for a salad instead. Tonight I even gave away a black forest torte to another coworker (I have never passed something like that up before).

Keep up the good work girls!!

Armonia! yea the fasting idea didn't work well for me either......however plan on trying it again one day next week! Let me know and we can do it one day together!

Helen! Sounds like you are doing great!

Well.never thought I'd say this.......I GOT WAY TOO MUCH EXCERCISE TODAY! Got up at 3am.......did 200 crunches, 30 mins cardio and 10 mins of upper body workout.....went to work.....and ended up walking OVER 6miles in 95 degree heat out in the desert...(with a hard hat on).....plus lifted 50lbs all day long.......I am so tired and think I'll be skipping my workout tomorrow morning.....

Okay....the weekend is coming up........how are we going to get thru it?????? By logging in.......figuring our meal planners.......kepping busy doing yard work or whatever maybe a bike ride? I have to work saturday morning....all night Saturday night and then again Sunday after noon......so I won't have much problem keeping busy.....however my boss gave me 4 tics to the big rodeo tomorrow night (it is a big deal here) with special sponser tickets for all you can eat/drink.......so....Friday will be my trouble day.......I have sworn NOT to have ANY beer or anything but water for that matter......and keep it light on my meal planner tomorrow and take it easy at the buffet......you know....try not to blow it!

P.S.......cannot belive you girls work at food places and are doing a great job at sticking with the program! Good for you!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, working in the food industry isn't so much of a problem after a while, you sort of go off the things you serve, well, that's the theory anyway. Mind you, if I worked with sweet stuff, I couldn't guarantee I'd leave it alone.I'm a sugar freak. PIXIEFLOWER, you're a star! I had a piece of my Dads birthday cake. It was the most luscious, gorgeous, glorious, gooey,....... words fail me!!! But I only had one piece (401 calories - I worked it out) I'll have to work extra hard tomorrow. Helen.

accually, I am the one that works in a doughnut shop and its not the doughnuts that are the peroblem, its the otehr things like danishes and cookies and muffins that are hard for me. Oh and of course, the ice caps. I realized that I only have 25 days till my wedding so I am not letting myself have anymore. I accually haven't had one in three days, so that good.
I decided today to go back on the sparkpeople recommended food for the day as well as pre planning my meals. I've been going well over my limits doing it on my own and its not making me look or feel better. I thought it would be hard only getting in 1200-1550 cal. a day but from pre planning, I found it is accually hard to make 1200 cal. If I accually ate properly, it was a struggle trying to find things to eat that would get me to at least 1200. I did mine today and I'll get in about 1201! I even can enjoy a non-fat carmel frappichino from starbucks. (Coffee shop in canada and the States for those who don't know it.) So. I'm very interested to see how long I can keep on this considering I have the attention span of about 3-5 days. I usually do not last too long when making myself do something, I usually fall back to my old bad habits in no time.
Helen: I'm glad your feeling better. Will you be in tip top shape for the wedding? I hope so. walking down the isle in pain is not a fun thing to have to do. Good luck on your recovery and God Bless.

Hi everyone. Thank you so much for your support. I don't think I'm great. I'm lucky in that I come from a family of people with strong constitutions. Anaesthetic has never caused me any problems, thankfully. I only got all my water in because that tube down my throat made me so thirsty. But thank you all any way.
You're absolutely right. We are all strong people, & we have a strong motivation for doing this. Not only the weddings, but other things, too. For example. I'm an "apple" shape, & apparently I'm at greater risk of heart disease than a "pear" shape. I want to be around for my family in the future, plus, of course, I'd love to get whistled at. (How unliberated of me.) I don't care, though. I want to look hot again, even though I'm in my mid forties. So yes. We can do this.
Having said that, I made a big chocolate cake today, because it's my Dads birthday today. I will have a piece (a small one) but I shall balance it out tomorrow. I can't do any strength exercises yet but, if I'm careful, I can do some cardio.
Maureen, tea is slightly addictive, like coffee, & if you give it up, or don't have any for a while, you can get a terrible headache. The times I've given up coffee, I've had one for about 3 days. It's better to cut down. It's a fish & chip shop I work in. I've worked in the catering industry all my working life, since I was 15 yrs. old. It's not the food I work with that's the problem. It's all the rest. I worked in a KFC for 5 years, when my children were babies, but I didn't drive, then, & I used to be always pushing a buggy, so I didn't have a weight problem. It was only when I learned to drive & then gave up smoking that the weight piled on. It's coming off slowly now, though.
I was supposed to weigh today but I've decided to change my day to Saturday. That way, I can have one or two treats at the weekend, & then be really good during the week.LOL. So I'll let you know the outcome on Saturday.
Keep the faith, ladies. I'll talk to you later. Helen.

P.S. I just realised how much I wrote. Sorry.

Helen: You are so great. I'm glad to have you back with us. Good job on getting all your water and food in. I don'T get my water in everyday, let alone after sugery. Wow!!

LALA: I was really motivated to do a one day water fast because you were doing a fast. Then I started making lunch for the kids and I tasted a piece of pizza which turned into two whole pieces. And then some strawberries, and then some black tea. I did realise that I have an addiction to tea, becasue I had a headache until I finished that cup of tea. I guess it's time to cut down.

Helen: You work in a donut shop don'T you. Wow, I am impressed, I was trying not to eat what I made the kids for lunch, and totally caved in. You are really strong for working around food, and still trying to loose weight.

Glad everything went well Helen. I cannot belive how strong you are! I expected to see you post sometime today.... not yesterday. Amazing!

CRUSINLALA: You are right. There is no magic to weight loss. I wish there was. I am behind you 100%. We can all do this. If we stick with it and work hard, it will happen for us!

Nothing new on my end. I had a bit of a tummy ache yeterday. You would think that would stop me from eating. Nope.... I still got in all my calories, and over 8 cups of water.

Today I do my cardio workout. I think I will do it when I get home, cause I am not in the mood to work out right now.

Well, I'll check in later. Have a great day ladies.

OK wonder woman (Helen) I can't belive you are up typing long posts right after surgery........plus......I didn't even see any
type-o's LOL! I don't even remember the day I had surgery AT ALL! Not coming home........nothing.....it was like I woke up at home (the next day)! Plus you made your cals for the day? You are AMAZING!
As for the hollywood diet.....I like your thoughts on that...made me laugh.....actually it did really motivate me cause now I realize there is no "quick magic to weight loss" you just gotta keep plunking away! I just got way too hungry by 2 pm and that was like 19 hours w/o food if you count the night of sleeping before hand. However........by hook or by crook.......I WILL lose 10 more pounds B4 the wedding! I CAN do this.........and so CAN ALL of you!

Hi everybody, I'm back. I was going to leave it 'til tomorrow to post but I feel really good so I'm doing it now. It went really well & I was only in surgery for about an hour. My left arm & shoulder feel a bit bruised & achy but I'm hoping to go back to work on Friday, although I may leave it 'til Saturday. I did manage to get my 8 glasses of water in, though, & I got nearly all my calories, etc. in for the day. It's weigh day tomorrow so we'll see.
Tami, don't be so down on yourself. It takes time to go on so it'll take time to come off. And you have lost inches. You did that last week as well, so your clothes must be feeling a bit looser. It'll happen. I know I've said it before - you just have to be patient. We're all with you.
Chris, you managed to last 'til 2pm. In my book, that's not bad going. It's called the Hollywood diet, probably because all these Hollywood types pay someone to sit on them 'til the end of the fast, & then they pay someone else to cook them tasty little morsels to tempt their jaded tastebuds. (Apologies to any REAL people living in Hollywood). And you never know, just those few hours may have kick-started your weight loss again.
Maureen, thanks for the info on the spinning thing. It definitely sounds like something to avoid. I can't use a stationary bike because I did years of gymnastics as a child & it's left me with weak knees. But as long as you're having fun ......!
Oh, just look. I've rabbited on & on again. I swore I was going to have an early night tonight but somehow, I don't think that's going to happen. I won't be able to lie on my left side as normal, so I think it may be an uncomfortable night. I'll talk to you all later. Helen.
