Congratulations on the alterations! I went ahead and took the plunge and ordered my dress, it should be here today. I wanted really badly to wait and order it in a smaller size, but I was afraid then it wouldn't be avaialable or maybe I wouldn't like it, or worst of all - what if I wasn't any smaller? So I decided to go ahead and order it in my current size and then have it altered. So wish me huge alterations too!

P.S. UPDATE: The dress came this morning, and it fit perfectly, which is the good news. I would definitely have to have it sized down. However. The bad news is...I just don't like the dress. So, back to the drawing board, LOL!

Hey MELINAKELLY congrats! Losing inches is better than pounds, I think. I told myself I wouldn't buy my dress until after I reached my goal, but I don't know if I can hold out any longer... three pounds left!

I paid around 400 euros...but when you include the bra, stockings, veil/shawl, shoes etc, the price quickly mounts. Yikes!

Hey, congrats. As to dress price. I paid $600 for mine which you can see on my spark page. My dress just came in yesterday (and fit like a glove) and I ordered it around christmas so don't wait to long to order the dress. Oh, and I ordered my dress 1 size smaller than they suggested and I really haven't lost that many inches (as in next to none). Take care and good luck.

I'm definitely stressed. Trying to make sure that everything is in place and that I haven't forgotten anything!

Thanks for posting. I have to start scheduling dress fittings and am a little nervous about how the dress will fit. But I FEEL BETTER and that is what is going to get me throught the marathon-length of the wedding day!

Hi Monizcel,

You're probably right about not worrying about a pound or two. I noticed that you are right on target for your wedding day...congrats :) May 26th is coming soon! I'm June 3rd. Not too stressed? My stress is mounting somewhat as the last month approaches and all the final bits and pieces need to be put together. But all in all life goes on as normal. Cheers!

yeah, that's a good idea about the puffing up the skirt a bit. Thanks!

You might be able to pump up your hourglass shape with a fuller slip, depending on your dress style. I was shocked at the variety of fullness available to poof things out a bit.

I just had my dress fitting on Friday, and I understand what you mean, when you say you are worried about losing more weight before the wedding.
I do not think that a pound or two either way will make much of a difference.
Congrats on your hard work!

I've been slowly moving towards reducing my weight since I bought my wedding dress in February. I've been with sparkpeople for a month or so now and I haven't really noticed much progress (I lost 2 kilos but it didn't seem like the scale was going down at all). Then this week tons of cool things keep happening...my boyfriend says my boobs are smaller (which in my case is a compliment), people at my dance class tell me I'm looking in great shape and the KILLER...I tried my dress on today for the fitting and the lady had to take an inch in all around (boobs, waist, hips)...on BOTH sides of my body. Now I'm stressed because I can't gain or lose a pound or the dress won't fit. And if she has to change it again she will charge me 80 euros (I'm in France). And actually the dress looked better when I had bigger hips...I have less of an hourglass figure now, kinda disappointing in some ways. I don't own a scale so I don't know if I've reached my ideal weight (i weigh myself at a friends but I haven't been at her house for about a week) but I feel great. So this evening I tried on all the clothes that I haven't been able to wear recently because I'm too embarrased of the rolls or because they were too tight and they are at least a size too big!!!!! I'm back to where I was two or three years ago. Anyway, all of this to say that you should all keep with it. I felt like the progress was invisible and that I wasn't getting anywhere and sometimes I was dying to just eat junk but it looks like my perserverance has paid off. Now all I have to do is learn to maintain this (and maybe lose a little more for swimsuit season once I no longer need to worry about my dress fitting). good luck to you all.
