It really does depend on your skin tone...I looked awful in white dresses, it completely washes me out. I went with an ivory dress with silver detail.

My dress is ivory, strapless, and has silver metallic embroidery on the top edge and bottom edge.

I am up for anything. White is OK, but so is cream, ivory, or gold. I haven't really started looking yet, but since I am doing it on the beach, I might get a pretty sarong and a bathing suit. I haven't really thought about it properly yet. the dresses with accents look really pretty and unique as well. Conventional isn't necessarily the best. Look for something to suit your personality, season and location.

Hey, I am as white as a ghost and I tried on all sorts of dresses. What finally looked good was a dark ivory. I didn't look so pale and sick in it. No matter what though, you'll be a beautiful bride.

I have a diamond white over light gold dress...which translates to ivory basically. I love it!

I have an ivory dress and I chose that because I have fair skin and a white dress looked just too white on me.

I almost went with an accent color (red or emerald) on my dress but ended up not going that route. I think that adding "non-traditional" colors to wedding gowns is so unique and beautiful.

My dress is pure white, but it looks good with my coloring (very fair skin and dark hair).

Mine is ivory and red! I'm fair-skinned as well, and we found that the stark whites just didn't look as good on me.

In many cases, the ivory (or other "shades" of white they have) are just barely off-white - as mine is.

It does all depend on your skin color. If you have fairer skin, you will not want to wear white because it may make you look dingy and sick. The ivory and off whites will make you look less pale.

I personally did get the pure white. I'm tanning and I love it!

Just wondering who is wearing white or if you are opting for another color. I currently have an ivory and champagne dress and it is gorgeous, I had a hard decision between it and a white one, but after looking at other peoples' photos I wonder which looks better. It seems the ivory looks dingy or dirty in pics, but I am fair skin, a little golden with blonde hair so the ivory looks good...UGHHHH decisions!!! I know its personal preference but I was just wondering if anyone had any tips or have seen photos to give a little advice.
