| I got married almost three years ago, but I had to post in this thread. I am not sure how your reception is set-up, but at my wedding, I was able to eat. We had an elegant sit-down dinner and everyone at the head table had a salad, cold appetizer, hot appetizer, main course (filet), and dessert (as did all of our guests). Then, later in the evening, I had a piece of cake. I did not notice I was hungry because I was saying "hi" to so many people and dancing the night away. However, I agree that it is a shame that you cannot find time to eat your wedding. I would make time for a small meal (even 15 minutes).

| I have heard not many brides eat at their wedding...which is a total shame. I know I cant wait to eat our dinner at our wedding!

| I get low blood sugar so my best friend, Leo, has promised to shanghai me if need be so I can eat at the reception and not pass out. I know many brides don't get a chance to eat because of all the people who want to see them/say hi.

My cousin who just recently got married, said that she ate very little at her wedding because she was so busy talking to everyone. So she had her maid of honor make her a "to go" bag which she ate after the reception was over.
I kinda like that idea, I think I may use it myself.

my parents had an engagement party for my fiance and i last night. i cant believe how well it turned out - they turned part of the house into a retro 50's cocktail lounge! i can tell they spent days on the project..(thanks sandra lee from semi home cooking - i know thats where they got have their 'tablescape' ideas from)
i thought i would go over on my food calories with all the amazing selections they had but ... i hardly got to touch anything! everyone was pulling me in different directions and i never had time to munch ..
so my question is this - how many brides got to eat at their own wedding?
