But although an all inclusive sounds expensive, think of how nice it is to not ever get a bill the entire time! All the food and drink bills add up to probably more than that anyway. Better to get it out of the way and enjoy yourselves! Is there a sandals in barbados?

I am having the same dilemma at the moment, as we can't decide were to go for our honeymoon was going to barbados but it's too expensive for an all inclusive deal. thought of the seychelles which is half the cost of going to barbados. i just don't know???????????????????????????????

We're getting married in July. We are going to stay at an all inclusive resort in the Bahamas and then stopping in Orlando for a couple days for Disney World. Do you think that's a scary time to go to the Bahamas due to hurricane season????????

Glad to see someone else is having honeymoon issues too. We can't decide because our jobs are up in the air and where we are going to live. Currently looking at a 14 day cruise in europe (around greece, Sicily, Italy etc) My fiance has never been to Europe and I lived in Sicily for three years so I really want to show him around..

Alright I am in need of some motivation again! My date is September 2nd 2006 *yes labor day weekend* and I want to lose about......10lbs. Nothing major but I have the WORST sweet tooth ever! My office mates just brought in all these girl scout cookies to help Support their daughters so of course I bought some. I had been doing really well for about 10 days following my diet and keeping a journal of my intake.. but then this week it all went downhill, my fiance is in town and valentines and I'm getting my wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow so I kind of made the excuse that I could eat whatever I wanted to eat this week because as of tomrorow I won't be eating solid foods for a while.. but I know I'm just setting myself back! I lack motivation right now and I was seeing great results! Help, need inspiration!

All inclusive resorts can be nice and affordable in certain areas. It is convenient as they include all drinks and food.

You have to decide on what's perfect for you. We are thinking about a cruise because we don't want to have to do anything or worry about anything. If you want to veg at the beach and have a lazy day Kuaui is suppose to be amazing. Fun and excitement, Vegas. Amusement parks, Disneyland or Disneyworld. There are so many choices, you just have to figure out what you want to do.... beach, mountains, cruise, etc.

Disney is good, as long as its off season. We are going on the week of the 16th & that is off season. Plus there's a bunch of things that adults can do.

Good luck in choosing where to go. My sister went on a cruise to the bahamas--maybe that's a better idea for you two.

We talked about Disney that but he doesn't want to be around a bunch of kids...and has never been there so doesn't want it as a honeymoon.

And Europe...we could never afford that!

Going to Disney World. We haven't been there since I was 12 & he was 15. And that was back in the 80's so a lot as changed. Plus, we act like a bunch of kids so its perfect for us.

On our anniversary--we'll save Europe for that. Right now, we're keeping it home.

Hey Stacy!!

That's cool! Maybe we're long lost twins! Just kidding. Great minds think alike! I just went to the caterer & baker on Saturday. Choose the cake & the food--boy! It's going to be a lot. But its good to get more bang for your buck. As for my dress, I'm having mine made by yosa at yosa.com --I haven't ordered it yet, but will be in April, so I hope to lose 25-30 lbs by then as I don't want such a drastic alteration change.

How's your plans coming along? I'm from NYC, are you from NY too?

Went to try on my dress, it has a lace up back and they laced it up as tight as it goes, and I still had two inches of space on each side, it was a great feeling to see how much I lost since November!

For those interested in why they dont let you count strength training calories heres what they say:
The cardio tracker doesn't estimate calories burned for things like Pilates and weight training because it's almost impossible to estimate how many calories a given person would be burning due to the many individual variables involved. Since any stock formula is bound to be significantly off for the majority of people who use it, and since overestimating calories burned is just as unhelpful as underestimating calories eaten, we recommend that people just consider the calories burned by these kinds of activity as "extra" calories they are banking for those days when things don't quite go as planned.

I'm getting married May 13th. I hada bout 40 lbs to lose and have already lost 10 of those. If I dont lose it all by May I wont be too upset as long as I tone up and lose the majority.

Good luck everyone and congratulations!!!

Hi brides to be! I was glad to see the post from KURIOUZ88 who is a newlywed. I am too, but I still wanted to post here because I feel like I can be supportive to those of you getting married. I was at my heaviest when I married the love of my life this past August, but now I'm living a healthier life thanks to a newfound focus and this web site.

My husband and I live in NY and are wedding photographers, if you can believe it! And I see beautiful brides every weekend and kind of lament that I didn't take action before my own wedding (well, we kind of put it together fast in between other people's). So instead of feeling sorry for myself about that, I'm thankful for Sparkpeople (been doing this 4 weeks) and want to reach out to other brides (and grooms) to be. I can offer support on many levels. Good luck to all of you and don't hesitate to contact me if I can help!!

Hi everyone! I just got started on Spark yesterday! I dont really know what I'm doing yet because losing weight is new to me! I am drinking my water right now. Our wedding month is June 2007, but we have not picked a date yet! I'm glad to see others have a while to go too! I think I want to lose 20 pounds, although that seems like a lot right now!

I am getting married Sept.16th..tentatively. I am older bride but excited. I currently weigh 165, lost a pound my first week here. Yippee! I want to be down to 128 by wedding. My FH has a 13 yr. old daughter and I have an adopted daughter who will be 4 next month.
I am glad they created this board and look forward to getting to know you all.

Yay! This is exactly what I was looking for:)

I also found SparkPeople through The Knot, though I hardly post...I'm a lurker.

I'm getting married Oct. 21. I've got about 5lbs to lose. Those pesky 5 that keep coming back, heh. I've lost a whole lot of weight in the past 7 years (about 80) so now I'm just keeping myself in balance and getting my body toned. I got a lot of pooch to firm up:P

Anyways! Good luck everyone!!!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to pop in and introduce myself... I hope to check in here often to see how all my fellow brides and grooms-to-be are doing.

I'm getting married June 16, 2006 and I'd like to lose at least 5 pounds by then. I know that doesn't sounds like a ton, but I've been trying for a long time to lose these 5 pounds!

CMFLY5357- I'm the same way-- I've got until May 13 to lose 10 lbs-- but I want it done way before that!
The stress of wedding planning sure doesn't help the weight loss process, that's for sure. I have learned to take better care of myself (me time, getting enough sleep, etc).

What a great idea for a board, I just saw it today! I'm getting married August 13th! Found this website thanks to my sister. My goal is to lose weight before the wedding like all of us here. I bought my dress a size small and it almost fits now. Next goal is to have alterations to make is smaller. Don't have to worry about a fitting until April.... at least that's what the seamstress told me. I will call back then to see if that's true, four months ahead of time just seems way too early.

To get calorie counts for your strength training you can go to http://www.caloriesperhour.com/index_burn.html
to enter your calculations (that site also takes into account your body weight) and then just manually enter the calories burned back here in your fitness page :)

I think I hold the current record for the longest engagement LOL
We're scheduled for Oct 4, 2008! We are paying for our own wedding and do not want to give up the "ideal" nor do we want to have to go into bankruptcy to do it so instead we are setting a farther-off date and saving ruthlessly. :)
Besides, it gives me time to lose all the weight I need to... I have more than 100 lbs to go.
