Good to hear from you again GK!

To create a ticker, first click on the last (far right) tab at the top of this page called "SparkPages". Then click on "Create a SparkPage" (it is fun to have a Sparkpage). At the bottom of the page is a place to pick the ticker you want and an icon to mark your weight. Just follow the prompts.

Look forward to seeing your SparkPage. You will also have the option of making your tracking logs public. I find making mine public keeps me just a little more mindful of what I choose to do.

Walking is my favorite form of exercise and have been doing that for years. My dogs are always ready to remind me to go. walking connects you to nature and builds strength, stamina and endurance while your mind reaches a lovely meditative state.

Thank you REBECCA for your warm welcome, and thank you for linking me to the articles on HPB and motivation. I definitely will be reading them.

I have chosen my weight loss plan based on the GI index, as I find it to be a very easy plan to follow. A Canadian has written several books based on this plan, and has simplified the plan where it is extremely easy to use. I have a 2 day setback from exercising at the gym, as I am wearing a heart monitor and the cardio. dr. said not to execise to the point of sweating. So I will be walking outdoors for a couple of days. That's okay, it's just temporary and on Wednesday I will be able to resume my full workouts.

Rebecca, can you tell me how I can add a weight loss ticker to my profile please?

Hi everyone! I've been lurking for a couple of weeks. This looks like a terrific place to be in my quest to lose weight and to be healthy.

About 3 wks ago, my dr. told me my blood pressure is at the high end of normal, and that it is time for me to lose weight and to exercise. So I have changed my diet and I'm being very vigilant about what I put into my mouth now, and last week I started an exercise program. So I am here for company, for support and no doubt as time goes on, I will need some motivation help.

I look forward to getting to know many of you.
