Just saw the poem and it was great! Who says chubby grandma's can't be funny grandma's too. Sandi, I know how you were feeling with the Ben & Jerry's. I was once an ice cream addict! Now, not so much, but I'm still into major portion distorition. I came from an Italian family and when the box says "6 servings", that's 2 servings in my family. I think that and my evening snacking are my killers. If I could cut down the portions and stop snacking, I'd probably drop a bunch of pounds. Oh well, all we can do is keep trying. So, smile and when you pass the ice cream freezer try to picture something disgusting in the tub o'ice cream. Sounds silly but we all have something that turns us off. Years ago I loved Filet O Fish sandwiches but one time I bit into one and it was raw in the middle. I have not had a Filet O Fish since that experience. Good luck!

Out of the shower, into my towel I bent over to pick up something & began to smile. Because as I stood up, my towel got stuck, In a place it shouldn't.....just my luck. Feeling a bit blue, that's when I knew, It's time to change, & quit crying boo-who. So here I am now, getting fit over 50, Eating the way I should & feeling pretty nifty. But don't get me wrong, the cravings are strong, That is why I look so bad in a thong. So dear 50's, I have to laugh, As I travel this weight loss path.
Good luck to you Sandi, I hope you soar Loose your weight & get fit to the core. Laugh when you can, & when you can't, Visit your Spark friends you've met on your path.

Ladies, thanks for replying to my introductory message. I am so new at this that it took me a while to find out where the replies were!!!!
I stopped at the grocery store after church is morning and bought myself some Ben and Jerry's and have eaten the entire tub of ice cream. As a diabetic, I am not supposed to eat much ice cream, let along the whole tub. This stuff talks to me from the freezers at the store and from my own, if it happens to get in there and not immediately eaten. I can't seem to get this particular problem under control.
I think I should hire someone to do my shoppping for me and then I wouldn't even get the stuff inside the apartment.
Any suggestions which you have found helpful for yourselves?
Sandi

Hi, Sandi! I'm Carol and I'm an overweight grandma too. I'll bet there are lots of us out there. I've been on and off the site since last year. I am very focused in everything I do, with the exception of trying to lose the 30 extra pounds I've been carrying for the last 10 years. Glad we are both doing something now to make some positive changes. I wish you the best with you goals!
