Wow, I had responded to the e-mails I think on Monday so when I looked I was thinking what happened to my last message. I then remembered it was late and my computer crashed just before I was able to enter the message and I went to bed but by the next day I forgot what happened. It was good to see the messages.

Thanks COUNTRYGRANNY for your words of encouragement. You have really done great. In fact so many here are just 10-20 pounds from goal. That is still almost 2 years away for me at my current rate of loss but I'm going to do it and this time I'm keeping it off the same way I have lost it. Eat right and exercise.

Talking about exercise, I really should get on my treadmill this morning. I only lost 0.2 last week but it is a loss so I'm claiming it.

So Dory, how'd you do this week? That is great to get your first pound off! I'm not sure about the half & half but I just try to use less milk or creamer. In fact, I have stopped using it in my hot tea most of the time and cut back on my coffee drinking. To me it is little decisions of what you can reduce or substitute but I don't believe in giving up completely the things you enjoy. I think too often if we try that it might work for a while but in the long run you'll crave it and then give up completely. I have found that on many things as I eat more of the right things then I don't miss the candy and other sugar. I use to always eat some candy after lunch but now I eat fruit and I seldom ever want candy. Also I sometimes want something like candy or ice cream and I say ok but why not wait until Monday afternoon(I have a weigh-in Monday morning at work). Many times I don't even want it by then but if I do then I go ahead and have it but try to limit the portion.

DAVIDSON it is good to see you back. Great idea to walk but I don't live close to work or church so I just walk on my treadmill. Wonderful that you didn't gain. It is hard to stay on track when you are traveling. Hope you have a great report for us soon. Keep up the good work.

Have a great weekend everyone. God bless!

Hi, how is everyone doing? Long time no posts for many of you. Sally, how is it going? Did you ever reduce, change or stop using half/half in your coffee?

I didn't make a full pound off this week but I was close. Also close on my 5 pounds for the month which is what I need to make goal of 60 for the year.

God bless all!

Sat. is my weigh-in day and I lost 2.2 pounds. I was able to get back into doing more exercise and I'm sure that made the difference.

Hope everyone is losing but even if not by posting we can encourage each other. Have a great weekend everyone.

Everyone has been so quiet. I hope we are busy losing pounds and/or inches. A couple months ago I found some nice jeans at 60% off so I bought a pair of 24W, 22W and 20W. I could wear the 24W and the 22W I could get on but were a little tight to be comfortable. The 20W I couldn't come close to getting fastened. I am now wearing my 22W and last night I tried on the 20W to see if they were any closer to being wearable. I could get the ends of the waist band to touch(was maybe 2 inches or so apart when I bought them). It sure feels good to "see" the results.

Take care all.

My weigh-in was good. I lost 1.4 lbs. from last week. I just haven't been in a mood to exercise much the last couple of weeks so this was really great. I have tried to increase fiber so maybe that has made the difference.

God bless all.

LovesTraines any weight loss is good plus that is great results on the tape measure!

I love when the tape measure or the fit of clothes shows that the weight is coming off. I wore a pair of pants that were noticable looser in my calves this week. Made me smile all day. My next weigh-in is Sat.

Good evening everyone.

Had my weekly weigh-in and measure tonight. Down 1/2 lb only ... BUT I lost an inch from the waist and 1 inch from my thighs, and took back 1/2 inch on the hips. All in all, I consider it a good weigh-in.

I hope everyone else has success this week.

Happy Easter to everyone.

Just an early smiley post here. Had some fun yesterday as DH and I went north a short drive to visit a cat show where friends are exhibitors. Got to greet and cuddle some beautiful kitties and chat with folks we only see at the shows. Our perenial favorite, a cat named Frida Kahlo, is taking a couple of weekends off, so her owner was showing her half-brother, an equally charming little fellow of only a year old. He's a beautiful cuddle-bug, but he's got an adolescent body, so the judges didn't like him as well. DH being an unbiased cat-lover spent equal time with the long-haired Birmans across the isle and our slick-coated Burmese and Bombay buddies on our side of the isle.

This Easter morn dawned very chilly for southern New England ... and I was just getting used to the 40s! Today, we'll be lucky to see 40!

Today I'm doing the cooking, so I can plan good meals to go along with my program. Did a quick step on the scales yesterday and was pleased with what I saw. Monday afternoon is my official weigh-in at Curves, so I'll keep thinkin' positive thoughts til then.

Best wishes to everyone!

Believe it or not, I'm in New Mexico and we had snow yesterday, too! None yet today but I can see the clouds coming over the Mountains...So much for that yard work/cardio I was planning. Back to the elliptical.

I. too, am really proud of everyone. With all the hectic schedules and busy social lives we all have, just keeping healthy eating and exercise in your mind is difficult enough, and here we are "acting" on it. Oh, not always, and we do slip, but while you're doing your stretching exercises today, reach around and give yourselves a big pat on the back. You've earned it!!

Have a great day!

Wow, it looks like several people have really done good. Truly on weeks where there are special events and/or travel just to stay the same is positive. SLIMBONNIE, lost 2 and only 10 lbs. to go that is great!!! Davidson, lost and with attending a very special party. That is so encouraging. DP so that is a little better than a pound a week and how impressive on the BFI too. And Jayel to have stayed the same when on the road is really good. It might be extra salt causing water retention and will come off soon. You are so close to goal and that does make it harder. All of you and everyone who posts is winning just by keeping up the effort.

I have been having trouble doing the exercise. My last post I said I was going to go exercise and then didn't do it and haven't exercised today either. I am doing 10 minutes in the morning on treadmill M-F plus walk extra trips up and down steps at work and 3 days do a few weight exercises on equipment at work but I know I need to do more and vary it more. Maybe next week. I really was afraid I'd gain this week but surprisingly I'm down 0.4 lb. which isn't much but with eating out and work party I'm very happy. At least I don't have any Easter candy to tempt me this weekend so I'm hopeful that next week will see more loss. Next week I have to work on taxes. I said that this year I wasn't going to wait until the last minute but here I am again.

Everyone have a Very BLESSED Easter. HE LIVES!!!

Good luck on the road. I'll be anxious to here how you do. We are off to a Lions Club Convention the weekend after Easter. Each meal there will be a gigantic buffet. I guess if I stayed home more I could lose the weight but that is NOT going to happen.

Way to go Davidson!! Looks like all that dancing did the trick! Sounds like you should boogie on down the scale!

You too, LovesTrains (DP). Congrats! Keep it up folks! These mini-goals seem to be working!!

I'm traveling again - Trying to exercise with bands in the motel room and eating right (good thing most hotel rooms have refrigerators and microwaves thess days)both in the room and in restaurants. Won't be able to weigh in until Saturday. Wish me luck!

Wow! I simply cannot believe it has been 3 weeks since I joined the one pound challenge ... and I failed to report in on my Monday weigh-ins. *shucks (scuffing toe in dirt) that wasn't good*.

Well, I'm here to report good news! I had my regular Monday evening weigh-in at Curves tonight and I'm down to 195.5 I should also report that I did not weigh in last Monday ... and the Monday before that I was still at 198. So, it looks like I lost 2 1/2 lbs in the past 2 weeks.

Now, to keep the momentum going!

Measurements remained about the same overall. The overall reduction was 2% in BFI. Overall, I am pleased and energized by finally departing my plateau.

It was wonderful to be among such youth and energy. If the soreness in my legs is any indication I must have danced enough to wear off those pounds.

Glad you two are still with us!
Way to go, SlimBonnie! And - from a fellow pet lover - good for you for spaying your cat (although she may not be thrilled with you at the moment).

Davidson - You'll be OK, I bet. With all those young people around, you were probably a LOT more active over the weekend too. Maybe you burned it off!??

Have a healthy week!

Hi - I am back from a weekend in Niagara Falls. It was a Stag and Doe party for our son and his fiance. It was a great time with so many young energetic people. However the food was great too. I don't know about the one pound this week. We will have to wait until Tuesday.

Hi everyone,
Sorry I haven't posted lately but we took our cat in to be spade so my attention was on the cat. I lost 2 lbs. last wk. as I didn't feel much like eating & when I could get away I went mall walking. Sounds like everyone has been doing really good. Wow! What a group you are. I am so glad to be here.

Kathy - you are moving girl!! Look where you've been and where you are! I am impressed!

Yeah, it does get harder. When you first start from sedentary to active and from "eat it all" to "eat smart" the weight comes off pretty good. The next level is tougher and I HEAR that the last 10 pounds are A LOT harder than the first 10.

We'll get there though - together!

Speaking of that - Haven't heard from some of you folks in awhile - Where are you Davidson, Slimbonnie. Darnita...Cheri,,,Majones?????

Wonderful, jayel! And that is great that you are exercising as that is what I need to do and this morning have found it hard to get started but right after this post I'm getting on my treadmill. Thanks for the great example.

I lost 1.8 lbs. this week. Plus that makes 8.9 for the month which is my best month so far. And I can finally say I have lost 50 lbs. instead of about that. I'm about a third of the way to goal.

I know it is harder to lose as you get closer to goal. Several of you look so close and that is encouraging to see you keeping with it even when it is hard. I'm so happy that this challenge was started and each of you are here. Together we can do more and go further than we could apart!
