Thanks for the encouragement and I know if I keep track of my meals in the meal tracker I do really well. My dial up at home is so slow it takes forever to enter my meals so I try to do it at work. I really blew this weekend. We had temps in the -20ies so chilli was what I made and ate way to much of it. Weekends are my biggest down. I will try to plan next weekend better. My goal this week is also to get to the gym here at work at least twice. thanks again for the encouragement it is nice to know I'm not alone is this battle.

Good Morning KLBFOO,

My problem has always been portion control. What I do now is to use the food tracker and I make my meal choices a day in advance. That way I know exactly what and how much of it I can eat to keep within my calorie range. I also am finding that drinking the 8 glasses of water a day also helps me.

When I wanted to loose weight before I always guessed on the calories and when I used the food tracker I was shocked to see just how wrong I had been. No wonder I was holding on to my weight.

Just remember...you do not have to do this alone ever again. We are all here for you.

I know portion control is what I need. Time to do all this is my problem. After work last night I went home made supper then made, measured and pack lunch for today and cleaned up the kitchen and it seemed like my whole night was gone. Last weekend I did take my box of cheerios and measure it out into zip lock bags and put them all back in the box so all I have to do is grab a bag. I will hang in there and keep measuring. thanks for the message and encouragement.

My suggestion would be start with portion control and measure everything. If you eat breakfast and take small meals throughout the day (every 3-4 hours) you will find it eases hunger spikes and makes it much easier to keep to proper portions. Focusing on getting 5 servings of vegetables/fruit is important as is 8 glasses of water.
Tracking makes it easy to guage what you need to change.
Best of success to you and welcome back!!

I started Sparks last year and my goal was Valentines day this year well needless to say I'm not any where near my goal. I lost a total of 6# last year. It was a yo-yo all year. I did find out a medication I was on was causing fluid retention so since I stopped that I decided to try Sparks again. I do weights in the gym twice a week. I work in a hospital at a desk but make lots of trips up and down the halls. I work 40 hours a week so it doesn't leave much time to plan and prepare meals. Hope someone out there can relate. My biggest problem is I love to cook and portion control. Any suggestions?
