Sheilah,

Sounds like you are on the right track - visit dr. - follow directions - eat right. This is the place to do it. You may want to start an exercise program - at least strength training. That should really help with the blood pressure and, if your sugar is high, get your levels back to where they should be. Keep in touch with your dr. and read the Spark People articles. There's TONS of stuff here to help you!

I started this year at my highest weight, but with lots of hope. At my doctor's visit last week, he started treating me for high blood pressure and sent me for lipid levels because my sugar was high. He cited getting older, but I think it's also because of being 40-50 pounds overweight. I have started eating better and hope not have to take mediciation because I'm horrible when it comes to that.
