You are so right about the acidophillus. I wouldn't think of not taking it. I have tried different brands but the one I get from that wholeapproach site I believe is the strongest and therefore the best bang for the buck. I take about four each day. I don't have "yeast infections" but other manifestations of it. (UTI and eye irritations) Probably most people in America have an overgrowth of yeast from the way we eat and take antibiotics and don't recognize that the ear infections or arthritis or you name it is actually caused from the yeast. I have been doing a bentonite and psyllium drink each day to clean out my colon where the yeast live. That is the simple part. It's saying no to my homemade bread, english muffins, ketchup, fruit and of course all sweets. I used to eat them in moderation anyway to keep my weight down but I have been a good girl since September except for my red wine with dinner. I know it counteracts the whole process but it was the one thing I couldn't give up for months on end. I have made some great recipes though using alternative flours (I don't eat wheat). I have found some rice crackers that are so crunchy and yummy and I would eat them even if I weren't on this diet. You can just buy them in the grocery store in the Asian section. Well, take care and talk to you soon.

thanks Janet, I will look it up- one of the things that I am doing for myself is taking an acidophilous supplement, it is a combination of several "good" strains to help combat the "bad" and clean up the digestive system. I haven't used it long enough to know how it is working yet. I also would have a hard time with some of the diet regimen-as in the no fruit part. But I need to cut down on bread and any of the Junky type foods anyway. Mine gets better on its own and gets worse on its own, so never really sure what the trigger(s) is, except more clothing in the winter seems to irritate it and being too sweaty in the summertime!-still a no win sitation in our climate in the PNW! Let's keep in touch and at last we can encourage each other! BB

Hi!
I use the website called wholeapproach.com. They are extremely knowledgeable!! I have learned so much. But honestly, they are a little discouraging b/c they are so strict and I just can't stay on it to that degree. But they have message board forums and you can literally spend hours and hours doing searches on your particular symptoms and get answers. They have a link to the diet recommendations and every other aspect you can think of I have to come to really respect the opinion of the moderator.
Nice to meet you.

Hi Janet, I am intrested in the diet that you mentioned. I also suffer from a form of yeast (have to look up the exact name) Maybe you could direct me to a website or...? I congratulate you on trying a diet to starve it out! Thanks in advance, Bonnie

I have been doing the candida diet since September 06. This has not been to lose weight of course (much better ways for that!!!) but to rid my body of the excess of yeast. Is anyone else currently doing this? I frequent another support board but they are really strict and almost DIScouraging. I am hoping to find some support here.
For those of you not familiar with it, the diet is basically removing all fruit, sugar, yeast and fermentations from your diet to kill (starve) the yeast. It is challenging as you might imagine.
Thanks in advance,
Janet
