Hi! I've been "using" "following" SP for about a month now. I'm doing pretty good. Menopause is making it more difficult. I think I'm right in the middle of the the BIG M. So weight loss is more difficult than it used to be.
I find it very helpful to use the food tracker and exercise log on the site. It's also fun to make a Spark Page (you can visit mine to see a sample). I weigh in once a week (used to be daily!) and then it's on a Friday morning. Weekends are the most difficult for me because that's when my SO & I go out for breakfast. I'm learning to eat better food and watch the portion sizes. I'm learning A LOT!
The articles are very informative and interesting. I've gotten tons of encouragement from others on this site. This has been a good thing for me.
I wish you lots of success and don't get discouraged. Ups and downs (especially at our age - I'm 53) are to be expected. Just plow through them and know that you are doing something good for the inside of your body even if it doesn't show on the outside - YET!

Hi everyone, I'm new to the site. Found it by accident and looks really interesting. Started yesterday. I was a really large kid but lost weight as an adult - kept it off until about 5 or 6 years ago. Had some major life changes and stopped caring. In that time I've blown up and am very unhappy. Something has just clicked and I feel finally ready to get back to the real me. It seems like it's going to be much more difficult than when I was younger.
