Welcome and Hello HappyTraveller,
I looked up Ross River Virus and it seemed that it is possible to recover from it. I would chose that option. I hope it happens for you.
How about swimming? Free weights are another great exercise. Check out the fitness center and you will find lots of options including free weights.
Yoga is also wonderful.
Your goal seems very 'do-able'. I wish you success.

I hope to lose 6kg and keep it off. I have been keeping fit over the years by walking 5-6km a day. But I have just found out after 2 years of suffering from very painful feet that I have residual arthritis of the feet and ankles due to Ross River Virus which I contracted 8 years ago. So now I have to find another type of exercise.I have bought a road bike and a stationary one. so if anyone has tips about what other types of non weightbearing excercise I could do please let me know.
