Sparkysmom,

Did your doctor suggest artificial sweetners instead? I think those are worse than real sugar. I also read an article a while ago about margarine. It seems that the chemical make-up of margarine is one molecule away from plastic. Sound good!

I thought it was a good article but that it left out an important point. My doctor had us give up sugar and our cholesterol went down very quickly. He said simple sugar drives up your triglycerides and your bad cholesterol.

I noticed that mine came down so quickly and was puzzled as he also took us off margarine and allowed the use of real butter and olive oil. That's why I asked him what was up - I guess I never thought my cholesterol would go down if I was using real butter!

We try not to eat anything with sugar in it and it has really helped!
