Your job sounds like fun. We did a lot of camping as our children were growing up. Stayed at lots of state and nat'l parks. I alway made sure we went to the programs. Had lots of fun and learned a lot.

Hi Mary Nan,
I'm not a teacher but I do some teaching. I work at a nature center. We do environmental education. Although I do mostly office work, I do get to take school groups out on programs.

I have a love-hate relationship with my scale. Love to see it go down a pound--hate it when I stay the same or go up.. Lately I've just been staying in the same two pound range. Trying to find the key to getting it to move down again.
The job I have is working against me. I work 3-11 most days so even though it's not a good idea to eat late at night just before bed when I get home I am HUNGRY. So I eat, then that keeps me awake until about 1AM. Then I don't get enough sleep and that make loosing harder too.
Anybody have suggestions?
Larry, your desk looks like a teacher's. Am I guessing correctly?

Mary Nan,
I'm in the same boat. I just strated tracking calories/exercise.. again. I went on maintenance back in the spring. Quit tracking. Now I'm up 8 lbs. The scale doesn't lie.

Hello Kenwife and All: I am also getting Down to Business. Stepped on the scale this morning and did not like what I saw. Up a couple of pounds. Guess I have been fooling myself, thinking I could get along without tracking calories every day. So that starts again, along with making sure I work out every day and track that too.
K--you life must get really hectic with a large family and husband gone much of the time. I live in Michigan. Moved here from Nebraska in June. Just me and DH at home now. Oldest sone is in the Army, stationed in Germany with wife and three small sons, second son in Iowa, and daughter a student at MI State.
Hope you'll be part of my support group. I'll do the same for you!

Hi everyone. I am getting my self back on track today. I have been pretty busy between Thanksgiving and birtdays but today my husband went back to work so I have my schedule back. He is a long haul truck driver and gone 4-6 weeks at a shot and when he is home for a week or two I get nothing done and have litte time for my routines. So today it is back to the treadmill and posting and reading articles and all that fun stuff. I put on a little weight on Thanksgiving day but I took it right back off. I was able to stay away from the brithday cake. I am glad to be part of the 50's group. I have been looking forward to turning 50. Tells you how boring my life is. I live in Tn, have 3 sons that still live at home, 3 daughters and 5 grandkids that live in Utah. One of the sons that lives here has a wife and her son here to. They will be getting a house next year, if his job holds and he doesn't get laid off. I raise goats, have a bunch of dogs and cats etc. We live in a very rural area. Well that is me in a nutshell. Looking forward to getting to know all of you. Diane
