I also find some frustration with the database... I also add many foods myself. It helps to use the catagories instead of the search. The search is an or instead of an and function. Meaning if you put potato and soup in there in hopes to find potato soup, you will find all entries that include potato or soup instead of potatos and soup.... anyway... try the catergories, I find them much easier, but brand names are hard to find than generic stuff.

Welcome to SP!!!

While there are a lot of foods already in the database I've found it is just as easy to add the food yourself. It takes a little extra time, but you'll know that it is 100% accurate. If you stick to the foodtracker you'll be successful for sure.

I've lost 30+ pounds since January 1 and am enjoying life more than ever!

Greetings,

I'm a new convert from calorieking.com and love the site! But I am having some challenges finding foods in the database. I'm trying to search by name brand but without luck

For example: "PowerBar", "Slim Jims", "It's Pasta Anytime", "Kraft Shredded Cheese", "Lay's Baked Potato Chips", "Egg Beaters", "Ritz Chips"...these are major brand labels that I can't seem to find...

I'm searching by the names above and then broadening the search to a "generic" like "egg substitute" which shows up but not with the nutrition info of "Egg Beaters"...any suggestions?
