Yes, please leave the grams. It's bad enough as it is having to convert from kilojoules to calories, without having to convert to ounces as well.

Oh, I definitely agree DietColaLola!! There should be both! Just as you are so happy to have those grams and would be frustrated without them - that's how I am with ounces!

WAIT!!! Whatever you do, please don't take out the grams! I happen to live in a country where everything is metric and our nutritional info is in grams.

I guess I can't second my own motion, but me too me too!
Just hope they are at least looking into it. And I'm with you - it's my onlt complaint about the site.

I completely agree!! I have had to add over 30 items to my Cupboard list because of a lack of common foods are not listed or listed where you would think they should be. This is my major complaint (and the only one I have) with Sparkpeople.

It would take very little effort to get a small staff of people together to revise the food list and make it more comprehensive including ALWAYS adding oz's to weight measurements.

Comeon guys ;)

ok, still trying to figure out how to use the food lists.

Why is it that when I do a search for potato under the Vegetable catergory I get a list of a few raw potatoes. But when I do a search under the carbohydrate category I get two choices Potato which gets me the same raw stuff but there is also Potatoes - and that's where all the cooked potatoes are. Shouldn't ALL types of potatoes show up not matter where you find the Potato category? And why Potato and Potatoes?

Why is it that when I look in the pork category, under protein, I can't find Italian sausage but when I find that Italian Sausage has it's own category - the only choice is Pork. So why doesn't it show up as a type of pork?

Why is it that when I look up Chicken Breast my only choices for measurement are "breast" and grams. Same for Turkey. Why are ounces not a choice? I know that a "small pack of kleenex" is about 3 ounces. What is that in grams, 90? And if I select breast- how does the list know how big it is? And if I select "breast" then the quantity defaults to .5. So is that half of a half breast? (as breasts come in pairs). Seems that ounces should always be an available choice.

Why is it that when I enter a food that I can't find it on a search later? I tried to enter Pinatas Girl Scout Cookies. Entered them in the same format that I've seen the other Girl Scout Cookies entered by other users. Cookies, Girl Scout, Pinatas - yet a search says they do not exist, can't find it under Sweets, can't find it with the other Girl Scout cookies, can't find it searching "Pinatas". I had to enter it twice and add it to my cupboard in order to add the data to my foods eaten.

Love the site, but would love some answers. It's time consuming to add everything in, I'd love to see some streamlining. Searching long lenghts of time to find foods is frustrating. And grams?
