| I've been taking zocor for many years and though I've gained some weight I'm pretty sure it was sitting at a computer all day and eating in front of the TV at night that did it. Now, with SparkPeople, I'm beginning to take off the 20 lbs I've put on over the last ten years. I hope that getting the weight off and getting control of my diet will let me cut back on the zocor. Good luck.

I didn't gain weight with Zocor but I did taking Lipitor and blood pressure meds. I have been able to cut my blood pressure meds since I joined Spark People with the dieting and exercise. Also trying to be more vegetarian so the cholerestrol will get under control. A Spark Friend Helen

I've been taking Zocor about 6 months now and I've gained 10 pounds since February, mostly around my waist. I hate it - I'd lost a lot of weight five years ago and successfully kept it off until lately. I can't find anything online that links the two, but I'm still thinking that is the cause. I also take CoQ10 to offset the muscle pain issues with the Zocor, but can't find any connection of weight gain with that one, either. I'm retired, but I've maintained a busy lifestyle. I know I need to walk and work out more (been too busy to get to Curves 3 days a week like I should). I'm interested to see responses.
