I can't argue the benefits of the mini snack - keeping fueled through the day. I guess that my thought is that for many, myself included, the mini snack can easily become a maxi snack then a multi snack, and on and on. This is where I have trouble. I feel so in control of my life with 3 healthy squares. I gravitate toward a very healthy diet anyway, this simply eliminates the gray line for me. I've done it in the past and was successful in nutrition and weight loss, but like any program, you have to stick with it and it can be a big step to get back to it. This is where I am today. SP is a fantastic program, and I feel that no matter which direction a person chooses, SP is the way to achieve the goals.
Today is my first no snack day with SP

If you read some of the articles at SP, you'll find that a healthy snack is encouraged. The key for me is replacing the sugar and fat that I was eating with fruits and vegetables. Repacing white bread with whole grain or 100% wheat and similar items. And don't forget the water. My snacks use to be candy and cake but now I eat an apple or handful of nuts. That is another thing--portions. I can take a serving and not have to eat the whole thing.
But each person has to find what works for them. It is a matter of baby steps and replacing a bad eating style with a healthier one that isn't for a "diet" but a lifetime change. Health is the goal.
Good luck and God bless. Kathy

When I started and needed to lose lots of weight I did not eat between meals. I now find that having smaller meals with a snack of fresh fruit/vegetable works best. I really think it is a matter of what you snack on as it really is the total calorie intake at the end of the day that counts.

NO SNACKING, NO SECOND HELPINGS. Iam just wondering if any of you are interested in the simplicity of this approach. Since most of the weight we put on is due to food that isnt consumed at meals, doesnt it make sense to quit snacking in the same way people quit smoking? I would just like to get some feed back from some of you. Thanks, Doobie
