Oatmeal
I make it in the microwave, add smart balance light margarine, and 1 tbsp. brown sugar.
I then transfer it into a styrofoam cup and take a plastic spoon and eat it in the car.

We tried the ziplock omelets this summer. My DIL brought the idea on vacation. It does work. Glad to know you can do several in a large pot because we were doing them one at a time.

I remember how it was when working to come up with quick yet healthy and hearty breakfasts. One of my favorites is English muffin with Peanut Butter and jam or fruit spread. Look at calories of English Muffin. I use Thomas Whole Wheat 120 calories. Peanut Butter I am careful to use only one Tbsp and use it like butter, instead of heaping it(fewer calories). Same with fruit spread. The Peanut Butter adds protein which I find is what helps the mid morning hunger. Total Calories will be around 250 if you watch portions. Add a glass of skim for more protein and a milk serving. Eat a piece of fruit mid morning to get you to lunch. For me this is also comfort food, because as a kid I loved Peanut Butter and jelly sandwiches. Give it a try!!! It is best NOT to skip breakfast, and to sit down to eat, but I find with this idea I often eat while I'm getting ready for work or in the car driving to work. Better than a McDonald's High calorie choice.

Ziploc omelets - What a good idea! I just may try mixing one up and freezing it, to see if it holds up that way. I already make south beach Diet 'quiche' and freeze it - this should work too! Thank you for your recipe.

Ziploc Omelette

Fat: 12.7 g

Carbohydrates: 2.9g

Calories: 193.9

Protein: 16.1g

Have you ever tried to make Omelettes for several people and serve them at the same time? Try this. The best part is no one has to wait for their special omelette!! Have everyone write their name on a quart-sized (medium) Ziploc Freezer Bag with permanent marker... and

1 Ziploc Bag
2 Eggs
1 Tbsp Diced Slice Ham
1 Tbsp Diced Raw Onions
1 Tbsp shredded Cheddar Cheese
1 Tbsp Diced Sweet Red Pepper

1. Crack 2 eggs (large or extra-large) into the bag (but not more than 2). Seal bag. Squish and shake to combine eggs. Open bag.
2. Add two to four of the following: Cheeses, ham, onion, green or red pepper, tomato, salsa, mushrooms, etc. (1 tablespoon of each)
3. Seal bags, and shake and mix well.
4. Remove all the air from the bag and ZIP it up.
5. Place the bag(s) into rolling, boiling water for 13 minutes. (You can usually cook 4-8 bags in a large pot)
6. Open the bags and the omelettes will roll out easily. Be prepared for everyone to be amazed!!

It is possible to prepare the bags the night before, then refrigerate until adding the bags to boiling water the next morning.

In 13 minutes, everyone gets their omelette for a quick breakfast!!

Try the following, the extra protein may help keep you from feeling hungry too soon:
1 1/4 cup of Kashi Vive cereal with fresh fruit of your choice(banana, peach, blueberries, etc)
1 cup fatfree milk
3 oz of turkey or chicken
I used to skip breakfast or grab muffin at work - bad choice. You have to jumpstart your metabolism with breakfast or else you may binge later in the day.
Good luck.

i need ideas for quick and easy breakfast items since I'd rather sleep an extra 1/2 hour then fix breakfast before work. I have gotten into the habit of stopping by McDonald's getting an egg mcmuffin which is 290 calories and who knows the fat content. I don't seem to get full with cereal and seem to be hungry about an hour later. A weight watcher muffin is 190 calories and does better than the cereal but what can I don't to get less than 300 calories. I do have a banana mid morning to tide me over until lunch which is around 12:30 to 1:00 would appreciate any suggestions. thanks
