Thank you for responding! My blood pressure is normal; but higher than it was all of my life because I had very low blood pressure, my fasting blood sugar checked out to be in the 90s. My cholestoral is at 210; which it was always at about 170 or less all of my life:however I am on hormone replacements which can raise cholestoral, and I have hypothyroid which can raise the cholestoral. The Dr. states that those that have dealt with cystic ovaries or fibroids have metabolic syndrome. I am frustrated because I exercise daily and I truly do not eat that many calories. My body seems to be hanging onto the weight.

Hi, R
If you're dealing with metabolic syndrome and hypothyroid, you should get a referral to a dietitian who can help you put together a diet plan that is suited to your particular needs. There are some pretty specific tests for identifying the different elements of metabolic syndrome (eg, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, etc). Did your doctor give you those tests?
Here's an article with some general info you might find helpful in the meantime:
Does anyone know about metabolic syndrome and how to eat with it? My Dr. states that he thinks that I have it because of ovary issues that I had and the fact that I was thin all of my life and now I exercise hard and eat so much more less in calories than I did . I also have hypothryoid;that went a very long time before being diagnosed, and I am battling a weigh problem that is very frustrating!!!! The Dr. said to keep cutting the calories but I read that if it is too low it damages the way our bodies burn the calories!!!! Help!!!!!
