yes, it is unfortunate that more parents don't moniter their children's 'net activities. It gives sites like myspace a bad name, that is usually unfair.

| I think contests are great but I too agree that it is unfortunate that it is limited to MySpace, a site I won't use just on principle because of all the children being preyed upon on there. I have blogs on Blogger and another system and would be glad to promote Spark there. I have links to Spark on my web page. I just have a bee in my bonnet about MySpace because it's constantly in the news.

| DJ, what I did was request to be SparkPeople's friend. After not getting an add for 24 hours, I sent SP a message through MySpace asking to be added. Within a few hours i was in. If you go to "pending requests" in your friend manager you should be able to do it there.

I have a myspace account, it a great site (although you may wish to keep it private, but when I clicked the add to friends link I got the following message on the confirm page:
"only accepts add requests from people he/she knows. You must enter either 's last name or email address to send your request"
I assume the account settings are set to private, how do we add?
BTW, I put a link on myspace for my friends to join me at sparkpeople-it was easy!

| I understand the rational and the need for "free" marketing in order to keep SP a "free" website...it's just MySpace is just so...well, I won't go there, but I'm sure you are picking up what I'm putting down...

| You should be able to go to myspace.com and find a link to register. Please keep in mind....we are not endorsing/recommending the use of MySpace. Moreso, we are encouraging current MySpace members to add SparkPeople as a friend.
