I've been a running enthusiast all of my life, but over the years I began having trouble with my ankles hurting. Reluctantly, I began alternating training days with running some days and stationary bicycling others. Now there are so many great pieces of stationary equipment that I find it's fun to mix it up like this - running, cycling, and the ellipticals are my favorites.
Over the years I've found - to my surprise - that I have been able to maintain a high level of fitness even though I may only run two or three times a week, while doing the other routines on the other days.
What "tricks" have others found to confront the challenges of aging?
