Well - sounds like I'm in the middle somewhere - our pantry and fridge is pretty free of not so great choices now - and it's summer time and I'm out of school so I can run to the store easily if I need something.
But - soon school will be back in session and if I want to keep my momentum going I think I'm going to have to do some planning - at least skeleton planning to keep on track.
I've never planned an entire week - that sounds so daunting to me - but I think I'll try this week to plan 2 days worth of meals. Breakfast is easy - I am such a creature of habit and I have a favorite cereal breakfast. Lunch is usually a salad with a protein source - so I could go ahead and decide what that's going to be. dinner I definitely could plan ahead - guess I just "have to do it" .
Good luck - I'll let ya'll know how it goes! LindaK

I hear you, "57". My dh is diabetic, so we don't keep much of anything "bad" around anymore either. kids are grown and moved away, don't visit often, so no real "reason" or "excuse" to have unhealthy foods hanging around here. It's better that way, don't need the temptation calling from the kitchen. I buy alot of veggies and some fruits, so we have those to rely upon.

Hi
I am awful at planning meals ahead, so I am no help to you. I have tried putting it on paper ahead and don't get very far.

I do plan basics, but it doesn't matter to me what the food is as long as I exercise portion control, weight and measure. We rarely cook things that aren't healthy.

I usually eat mostly the same things, so I don't keep lists anymore. But when I started back in 2004, I had to keep lists for the dietitian. It helped alot to write it down. But I never wrote it down ahead of time, cause I didn't know what my husband felt like eating on any given day for one thing!! My protein for the evening meal is different each day, but the veggies I have each meal, etc. are usually the same, as long as we are staying at home. It only changes if we have to go to a city to shop and eat out. Eating mostly the same things helps keep me losing. Boring, but that's the only thing that has worked for me my whole lifetime.

So how many have to plan your meals in advance. I know that there is just no possible way that I can stick with it if I just tried to eat healthy and then put down what I have eaten. I need to see it on paper (computer) before I know it is a good choice. Am I alone in this????
