I think what happened is that there were so many posts on this thread we all assumed someone else had checked it. I know I did. I'll pass it along!
(BTW I like the idea too!)

I would like that too I use this food tracker for it gives me points and there no way to just put in calories and i dont chart in two different place but i used to use calorie king and they have the snack listed after each meal that is cool.

I really like the idea of a mini-journal to help with emotional eating!

Maybe if we bump it up the list a bit?

I noticed there haven't been any resident experts commenting on this great idea. Is there a way to let them know this would be a good feature to add?

I think this would be extremely helpful, especially for us diabetics... breaking down those snacks throughout the day. And I also agree that with this set up it would be an excellent diary of our eating habits so we can analyze things. It definately gets my vote.

I too suggested this change a while back. Maybe if we ask nicely enough and there are enough of us asking they'll make the change.

I like the idea of three snack headers... I eat a snack in midmorning, and again on the ride home from work. I am always trying to figure out if they are "snacks", or part of a meal. Eating something every three hours or so has worked for me, and it would be easier to track with three snack areas. GREAT IDEA!

I agree with you guys on the idea to add a mini-journal feature attached to the food tracker so you can record what emotions were leading you to eat (or binge). That is so crucial to understanding and battling emotional eating, which I also have trouble with.

You have my vote too. I have been taught to eat 5-6 mini meals through out the day and putting all the foods in breakfast and lunch didn't let me see clearly when, how often, I was really eating.
Hope this isn't too hard a change to make.

I love this idea, too !! I think it would be really helpful.

I also think the idea of being able to add thoughts or feelings or comments for a food entry or meal combination (like dinner, lunch, etc) would be great. Since I'm an emotional eater, it would really help me alot !!

I was thinking this exact same thing!
and a way to add the time /feelings etc would be really helpful as I would like to record that but I dont seem to be able to do it twice :)

I totally agree with your idea. It would be especially helpful to diabetics, who are encouraged to spread out their food intake with numerous "mini-meals" and snacks instead of the standard 3-meal system. This keeps blood sugar levels steadier. Also, even for non-diabetics, some experts encourage this same eating plan because every time you eat, you rev up your metabolism a little. Who else out there agrees with this idea?

I was thinking that a good idea for the food tracker would be to set it up with 3 snack areas rather than just 1. This would allow me to break down when and how much I was eating throughout the day. Not everyone eats snacks throughout the day, but it would show those who maybe eat a lot during the mid-morning, that maybe breakfast isn't giving them the punch they need to get to lunch, or that they are eating too much at night.

My thought process is:
Breakfast
Snack 1
Lunch
Snack 2
Dinner
Snack 3

Oh! and thanks for the GREAT system that is currently in place, I LOVE this site!!!
