This is an excellent web page to go to that lists all kinds of different restaurants with the nutritional breakdown of everything on their menus.

Yep, you really have to watch. I went to Macaroni Grill, and figured that an order of spaghetti would be reasonbly healthy, since it was just marinara sauce... Yeah right. After looking at the nutrition info on their website, everything on the menu would be more than I could eat in a day, some were even more than 2 days worth!! I ended up getting canneloni or something, and only ate 1/3 of it. Then I had the rest for 2 more days of lunch.
For places I've never been, I try and check it out online before I leave, so I'm not so stressed while I'm sitting at the restaurant.

| oh man that happened to me once. i went to applebees and thought ok this grilled chicken sandwich thing will be ok. plus it has tons of spices. well i got home and looked it up and it was about the same cals. for GRILLED chicken. and i had taken off part of the bun too. i was so mad. now anytime i eat anywhere i look it up and if i dont have time i only order off of the "healthy" section. sometimes you can't even get a salad because of all the stuff on it

| Today I ate at Bob Evans for lunch. I ordered Cranberry Pecan Chicken Salad thinking that would be a good choice. I didn't realize that there was bacon on it. I asked for the dressing on the side. I looked up the nutrition information when I got home so that I could enter it in my food log. Boy was I depressed. In the dinner size portion there are 1108 calories and 63 grams of fat. I didn't eat the whole thing and only used half the dressing, but I pretty much blew most of my calories for the day. The moral of this story is research before you eat out if at all possible. P.S. I didn't know we were going to eat out. Dr. Appt. ran over and we were hungry.
